The interview was carried out this evening, over two days after the incredible death and devastation that took place in New York City and Washington D.C.
Our Air Force source told us his superiors had activated him at about 10 AM Tuesday morning.
He absolutely refused to permit us to record the conversation, even though he was speaking into some kind of electronic gizmo that substantially altered the sound of his voice; making him sound like Darth Vader with a serious chest cold. If his identity where ever to become known he would be instantly executed by any number of Government Intelligent Agencies.
Some portions of his statements were unintelligible, and he refused to repeat several of these.
Although this source was somewhat taciturn and close-lipped, for the most part he was cooperative in terms of giving us enough time to transcribe what he was saying. Overall what is stated plainly and unequivocally is of absolutely paramount importance for every single person in this nation and the world: certainly among those of us who value our inalienable human rights and liberties and want them to remain un-imperiled, un-abrogated and unabridged.

Intel source: (laughs) What should I answer first? I would never make this kind of statement without being fully certain it was factual. My own feeling is that it's completely sickening. It's repugnant and unacceptable and I'm completely opposed to what was done. But it's true and we all have to deal with it. There are forces within our Government who are completely determined to change the structure of our society at the most basic level, and these are the kind of things they're going to be doing to make sure that (fundamental changes in our society) happens. They have an office in the basement of the White House....but that's just one of many. Before....? Oh yea.....remember that young man that was executed a few months ago????

The primary motivation for an atrocity of this magnitude would seem to be to soften up the country for some serious curtailment of civil liberties, in the name of protecting us from such "terrorist" attacks. I've likened it to Hitler's burning of the Reichstag in Germany.
Intel source: That's a good comparison. (Unintelligible)...that's one of the main reasons the action was carried out Tuesday. That and the Date of this supposed terrorist attack. There's also other agendas having to do with control of the Middle East oil fields, and things related to that (issue). Remember, and this is VERY important, most of these nations being identified for attack as "Terrorists" nations have always refused to go along with the agenda of the "New World Order", if you will. George W. Bush(s), the CIA & a Case of State Terrorism
In early fall of 1976, after a Chilean government assassin had killed a Chilean dissident and an American woman with a car bomb in Washington, D.C., George W. Bush's CIA leaked a false report clearing Chile's military dictatorship and pointing the FBI in the wrong direction.
The bogus CIA assessment, spread through Newsweek magazine and other U.S. media outlets, was planted despite CIA's now admitted awareness at the time that Chile was participating in Operation Condor, a cross-border campaign targeting political dissidents, and the CIA's own suspicions that the Chilean junta was behind the terrorist bombing in Washington.
In a 21-page report to Congress on Sept. 18, the CIA officially acknowledged for the first time that the mastermind of the terrorist attack, Chilean intelligence chief Manuel Contreras, was a paid asset of the CIA.
The new report was issued almost 24 years to the day after the murders of former Chilean diplomat Orlando Letelier and American co-worker Ronni Moffitt, who died on Sept. 21, 1976, when a remote-controlled bomb ripped apart Letelier's car as they drove down Massachusetts Avenue, a stately section of Washington known as Embassy Row.
In the new report, the CIA also acknowledged publicly for the first time that it consulted Contreras in October 1976 about the Letelier assassination. The report added that the CIA was aware of the alleged Chilean government role in the murders and included that suspicion in an internal cable the same month.
"CIA's first intelligence report containing this allegation was dated 6 October 1976," a little more than two weeks after the bombing, the CIA disclosed.
Nevertheless, the CIA - then under CIA director George H.W. Bush - leaked for public consumption an assessment clearing the Chilean government's feared intelligence service, DINA, which was then run by Contreras.
Relying on the word of Bush's CIA, Newsweek reported that "the Chilean secret police were not involved" in the Letelier assassination. "The [Central Intelligence] agency reached its decision because the bomb was too crude to be the work of experts and because the murder, coming while Chile's rulers were wooing U.S. support, could only damage the Santiago regime." [Newsweek, Oct. 11, 1976]
Bush, who later became president of the United States and is the father of the current Republican nominee for the presidency, has never explained his role in putting out the false cover story that diverted attention away from the real terrorists. Nor has Bush explained what he knew about the Chilean intelligence operation in the weeks before Letelier and Moffitt were killed.
Dodging Disclosure
As a Newsweek correspondent in 1988, a dozen years later, when the elder Bush was running for president, I prepared a detailed story about Bush's handling of the Letelier case.
The draft story included the first account from U.S. intelligence sources that Contreras was a CIA asset in the mid-1970s. I also learned that the CIA had consulted Contreras about the Letelier assassination, information that the CIA then would not confirm.
The sources told me that the CIA sent its Santiago station chief, Wiley Gilstrap, to talk with Contreras after the bombing. Gilstrap then cabled back to CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., Contreras's assurances that the Chilean government was not involved. Contreras told Gilstrap that the most likely killers were communists who wanted to make a martyr out of Letelier.
My story draft also described how Bush's CIA had been forewarned in 1976 about DINA's secret plans to send agents, including the assassin Michael Townley, into the United States on false passports.
Upon learning of this strange mission, the U.S. ambassador to Paraguay, George Landau, cabled Bush about Chile's claim that Townley and another agent were traveling to CIA headquarters for a meeting with Bush's deputy, Vernon Walters. Landau also forwarded copies of the false passports to the CIA.
Walters cabled back that he was unaware of any scheduled appointment with these Chilean agents. Landau immediately canceled the visas, but Townley simply altered his plans and continued on his way to the United States. After arriving, he enlisted some right-wing Cuban-Americans in the Letelier plot and went to Washington to plant the bomb under Letelier's car.
The CIA has never explained what action it took, if any, after receiving Landau's warning. A natural follow-up would have been to contact DINA and ask what was afoot or
whether a message about the trip had been misdirected. The new CIA report made no mention of these aspects of the case.
After the assassination, Bush promised the CIA's full cooperation in tracking down the Letelier-Moffitt killers. But instead the CIA took contrary actions, such as planting the false exoneration and withholding evidence that would have implicated the Chilean junta.
"Nothing the agency gave us helped us to break this case," said federal prosecutor Eugene Propper in a 1988 interview for the story I was drafting for Newsweek. The CIA never volunteered Ambassador Landau's cable about the suspicious DINA mission nor copies of the fake passports that included a photo of Townley, the chief assassin. Nor did Bush's CIA divulge its knowledge of the existence of Operation Condor.
FBI agents in Washington and Latin America broke the case two years later. They discovered Operation Condor on their own and tracked the assassination back to Townley and his accomplices in the United States.
In 1988, as then-Vice President Bush was citing his CIA work as an important part of his government experience, I submitted questions to him asking about his actions in the days before and after the Letelier bombing. Bush's chief of staff, Craig Fuller, wrote back, saying Bush "will have no comment on the specific issues raised in your letter."
As it turned out, the Bush campaign had little to fear from my discoveries. When I submitted my story draft - with its exclusive account of Contreras's role as a CIA asset - Newsweek's editors refused to run the story. Washington bureau chief Evan Thomas told me that Editor Maynard Parker even had accused me of being "out to get Bush."
[In 1992, I published the Bush-Contreras account and Newsweek's reaction to it in my first book, Fooling America. I reprised the Bush-Contreras story in my latest book, Lost History, in 1999.]
Now, 24 years after the Letelier assassination and 12 years after Newsweek killed the first account of the Contreras-CIA relationship, the CIA has admitted that it had paid Contreras as an intelligence asset and consulted with him about the Letelier assassination.
Still, in the sketchy new report, the spy agency seeks to portray itself as more victim than accomplice. According to the report, the CIA was internally critical of Contreras's human rights abuses and skeptical about his credibility. The CIA said its skepticism predates the spy agency's contact with him about the Letelier-Moffitt murders.
"The relationship, while correct, was not cordial and smooth, particularly as evidence of Contreras' role in human rights abuses emerged," the CIA reported. "In December 1974, the CIA concluded that Contreras was not going to improve his human rights performance. …
"By April 1975, intelligence reporting showed that Contreras was the principal obstacle to a reasonable human rights policy within the Junta, but an interagency committee [within the Ford administration] directed the CIA to continue its relationship with Contreras."
The CIA report added that "a one-time payment was given to Contreras" in 1975, a time frame when the CIA was first hearing about Operation Condor, a cross-border program run by South America's military dictatorships to hunt down dissidents living in other countries.
"CIA sought from Contreras information regarding evidence that emerged in 1975 of a formal Southern Cone cooperative intelligence effort - 'Operation Condor' - building on informal cooperation in tracking and, in at least a few cases, killing political opponents. By October 1976, there was sufficient information that the CIA decided to approach Contreras on the matter. Contreras confirmed Condor's existence as an intelligence-sharing network but denied that it had a role in extra-judicial killings."
Also, in October 1976, the CIA said it "worked out" how it would assist the FBI in its investigation of the Letelier assassination, which had occurred the previous month. The spy agency's report offered no details of what it did, however. The report added only that Contreras was already a murder suspect by fall 1976.
"At that time, Contreras' possible role in the Letelier assassination became an issue," the CIA's new report said. "By the end of 1976, contacts with Contreras were very infrequent."
Even though the CIA came to recognize the likelihood that DINA was behind the Letelier assassination, there never was any indication that Bush's CIA sought to correct the false impression created by its leaks to the news media asserting DINA's innocence.
After Bush left the CIA with Jimmy Carter's inauguration in 1977, the spy agency distanced itself from Contreras, the new report said. "During 1977, CIA met with Contreras about half a dozen times; three of those contacts were to request information
on the Letelier assassination," the CIA report said.
"On 3 November 1977, Contreras was transferred to a function unrelated to intelligence so the CIA severed all contact with him," the report added. "After a short struggle to retain power, Contreras resigned from the Army in 1978. In the interim, CIA gathered specific, detailed intelligence reporting concerning Contreras' involvement in ordering the Letelier assassination."
Remaining Mysteries
Though the new CIA report contains the first official admission of a relationship with Contreras, it sheds no light on the actions of Bush and his deputy, Walters, in the days before and after the Letelier assassination. It also offers no explanation why Bush's CIA planted false information in the American press clearing Chile's military dictatorship.
While providing the 21-page summary on its relationship with Chile's military dictatorship, the CIA has refused to release documents from a quarter century ago on the grounds that the disclosures might jeopardize the CIA's "sources and methods." The refusal comes in the face of President Clinton's specific order to release as much information as possible.
The CIA could be playing for time.
With CIA headquarters now officially named the George Bush Center for Intelligence and with veterans of the Reagan-Bush years still dominating the CIA's hierarchy, the spy agency might be hoping that the election of Texas Gov. George W. Bush will free it from demands to open up records to the American people.
For his part, former President Bush has declared his intent to take a more active role in campaigning for his son's election.

WASHINGTON, DC -Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, reacted with disbelief to The Wall Street Journal report of yesterday that George H.W. Bush, the father of President Bush, works for the bin Laden family business in Saudi Arabia through the Carlyle Group, an international consulting firm. The senior Bush had met with the bin Laden family at least twice. (Other top Republicans are also associated with the Carlyle group, such as former Secretary of State James A. Baker.) The terrorist leader Osama bin Laden had supposedly been "disowned" by his family, which runs a multi-billion dollar business in Saudi Arabia and is a major investor in the senior Bush's firm. Other reports have questioned, though, whether members of his Saudi family have truly cut off Osama bin Laden. Indeed, the Journal also reported yesterday that the FBI has subpoenaed the bin Laden family business's bank records.
Judicial Watch earlier this year had strongly criticized President Bush's father's association with the Carlyle Group, pointing out in a March 5 statement that it was a "conflict of interest (which) could cause problems for America's foreign policy in Middle East and Asia." Judicial Watch called for the senior Bush to resign from the firm then.
"This conflict of interest has now turned into a scandal. The idea of the President's father, an ex-president himself, doing business with a company under investigation by the FBI in the terror attacks of September 11 is horrible. President Bush should not ask, but demand, that his father pull out of the Carlyle Group," stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.

"Air Force One is next," read the message received by the U.S. Secret Service at 9 a.m. Sept. 11, after two hijacked planes struck the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York.
Three minutes later, Secret Service agents grabbed Vice President Dick Cheney from his seat opposite a television set in the White House and hustled him down to the president's emergency operations center, a bunker built to withstand a nuclear blast.
The terrorists' message threatening Air Force One was transmitted in that day's top-secret White House code words. As the clock ticked away, the Secret Service reached a frightening conclusion: The terrorists had obtained the White House code and a whole set of top-secret signals.
This made it possible for a hostile force to pinpoint the exact position of Air Force One, its destination and its classified procedures. In fact, the hijackers were picking up and deciphering the presidential plane's incoming and outgoing transmissions.
The discovery shocked everyone in the president's emergency operations center – Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice and Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta. Their first question was: How did the terrorists access top-secret White House codes and procedures? Is there a mole, or more than one enemy spy in the White House, the Secret Service, the FBI, the CIA or the Federal Aviation Administration?
In the week after the attacks in New York and Washington, more hair-raising facts emerged. The terrorists had also obtained the code groups of the National Security Agency and were able to penetrate the NSA's state-of-the-art electronic surveillance systems. Indeed, they seemed to have at their disposal an electronic capability that was more sophisticated than that of the NSA.
This startling observation came as no surprise to those tracking the globe-spanning investments of Saudi Arabia's bin Laden family and those of its exiled son, Osama, in some of the world's biggest and most advanced satellite and telecommunications companies. World Space Communication is one of the known bin Laden assets. U.S. counter-terrorism agencies, including the NSA, have been tracking World Space Communication's activities for the past five years. Some of the company's satellites are far more advanced than the NSA's own eyes in the sky.
Bin Laden also has the NSA beat on the employment front, hiring the best computer experts on the market. One such is Nabil Khan Kani, a Syrian who lived in Barcelona with his Spanish wife, Jenna Florine, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
No one ever suspected what the amiable Syrian was really up to until January 2000, when FBI agents found two apartments he used thousands of miles from Barcelona, in the Bab el-Shabaa district of Saana, Yemen. The apartments served as transit points for Egyptians suspected of operational links with the Egyptian Islamic Jihad and Algerians connected with the Armed Islamic Group, or GIA. There, investigators turned up nine fake identity cards in different names, all with Kani's photo, Spanish, Italian, French and Sudanese passports, likewise with the same photo but in different names, and two pistols fitted with silencers.
Kani must have used yet another alias for his getaway. His whereabouts are unknown to this day. Computer and terrorism experts suggest that the missing Syrian computer whiz was the author of the technology known as steganography, as first described in the Washington Post yesterday. This technology enables users to bypass electronic monitoring by hiding messages randomly in seemingly innocent digital files, such as music files, those of the popular online marketplace eBay, pornographic files or even e-mail headers. Scrambled with the help of basic encryption tools, they can only be read by those with a "key." These messages leave no trace of their presence.
U.S. intelligence has been unable to trace their authors and recipients in the three years since first detecting evidence of their existence in the files of the bin Laden organization. U.S. agencies now believe that the attacks in New York and Washington were coordinated through those encrypted electronic messages, which were opened by "key" holders.
They also believe that terrorists are in possession of all or part of the codes used by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the National Reconnaissance Office, Air Force Intelligence, Army Intelligence, Naval Intelligence, Marine Corps Intelligence and the intelligence offices of the State Department and Department of Energy.
Intelligence and counter-terror sources report that, while rescuers in New York and Washington were sifting through rubble inch by inch, US government experts were changing codes one-by-one – and even more difficult, replacing procedures and methods of encryption. The nagging question of a mole in the highest reaches of the U.S. government and intelligence community – with direct or indirect links with bin Laden – remains. Since no single individual has access to every top-level code at any given time – a single mole would not answer the case; it would have to be a large, widely spread number. U.S. experts do not believe bin Laden was capable of infiltrating double agents into the heart of the U.S. administration on a large scale. They are
looking elsewhere, instead, at a country with a very well-oiled intelligence apparatus – Iraq.
This theory was argued by an authoritative voice, former CIA Director James Woolsey, in a New Republic article reprinted by London's Daily Telegraph on Sept. 17. He refers to a book called "Study of Revenge: Saddam Hussein's Unfinished War Against America," by Laurie Mylroie, which quotes a senior FBI investigator on the problematical identity of Ramzi Yousef, perpetrator of the first attempt to blow up the World Trade Center in 1993.
For that deed, a U.S. federal court in New York sentenced Yousef Jan. 8, 1998, to 240 years in solitary confinement. He was also indicted for conspiring to hijack 12 U.S. and Asian commercial aircraft on their way to the United States and blow them up over New York. It was claimed that the name Ramzi Yousef was an alias for his real identity, which was a Pakistani called Abdul Basit Karim.
However, the FBI investigator cited in the book said that Basit was not his real identity either; Yousef was actually an Iraqi army agent who stole Basit's identity. Basit and family were resident in Kuwait when Iraq overran the oil emirate in 1990. The Iraqis moved the family to Baghdad with other hostages. Some returned home, but the Basits were never heard of again, probably murdered for the sake of disguising Ramzi Yousef.
The former CIA director's advice is this: Iraq was involved in the first attack on the World Trade Center. Baghdad is therefore the place to look for the conspirators behind the second.
Intelligence sources can disclose that Woolsey's conclusion does not rest exclusively on the Mylroie book. While pointing the finger at Iraqi intelligence, he assigns Baghdad with no more than a partial role both in the1993 World Trade Center bombing and also in last week's suicide attack on its twin towers. His conclusions are based on a CIA investigation opened during his tenure as CIA director from 1993-1995.
Evidence kept in a personal dossier codenamed KG-84-HJ established Iraqi complicity in the 1993 attack. It also contains the first serious evaluations and theories regarding the identity of the high-placed penetration agents in the White House and at the heart of U.S. intelligence.

President Clinton directed our military to absorb a nuclear first strike rather than “launch on warning” (our only true deterrent to a first strike) and to prepare to “retaliate” afterward. That first strike will take down all command and control, all bombers (since none are on alert), most missiles, and all satellite and submarine communications.
According to the House Armed Services Committee, the following reductions have taken place during the Clinton Administration: Strategic and General Purpose Forces from 1990 to 1997: B-52 Bombers have gone from 220 to 56. B-1 Bombers from 90 to 60; Strategic Defense Interceptor Aircraft from 36 to 0; and Army Divisions (1990 to 1997) have gone from 18 Active down to 10. Reserve divisions have gone from 10 to 8. Army Brigades (1990 to 1997) have declined from 8 Active to 3 and Reserve brigades have gone down from 27 to
18.

Gadhafi condemns United States on coup anniversary

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi slammed the United States in a speech Saturday to mark the 32nd anniversary of his rise to power - saying the nation was run by 400 powerful families and mocking it for being afraid of Osama bin Laden.
In a 2 1/2-hour speech, Gadhafi expounded on his vision of a perfect society in which, for instance, people economize on water by buying smaller drinking glasses. He said taxes are a waste of ink and the paper the forms are printed on.
The speech culminated two days of celebrations marking Gadhafi's coup that ousted King Idris on Sept. 1, 1969, while the aging monarch was out of the country. Gadhafi, who was 27 at the time of the revolution, is now 59.
Most of the festivities took place Friday. African groups danced in Tripoli's streets. Gadhafi threw an open-air banquet for his guests - including several African presidents - and he presided over the graduation of police and army officers.
Dressed in a khaki safari suit, Gadhafi appeared relaxed Saturday as he addressed members of the country's General People's Congress, a legislative body whose members are elected indirectly through a hierarchy of people's committees.
In Libya, there is no president, no parliament and no Cabinet. Gadhafi holds no formal office and, in theory, Libya is a jamahiriya, a state of the masses, governed by the populace through local councils. In fact, though, Gadhafi is the absolute ruler of the country of more than 5 million.
In his speech, Gadhafi said the system of government in the United States, which he has long been at odds with, is "antiquated and should be thrown in the garbage. It belongs in the museum." He said parties in Britain are just "clubs for noblemen and lords."
"America is not a democracy. ... It is governed by 400 families that control power and arms," Gadhafi said. He did not say which families.
He also said that Saudi terror suspect bin Laden, "a thin man with a weight of about 50 kilograms (110 pounds) and armed only with a Kalashnikov (assault rifle)... scares America more than the former Soviet Union did."
Gadhafi even accused U.S. labs of developing the AIDS virus.
He also said that the school system in the age of the Internet should be modernized to allow today's generation to begin specializing in their majors around the age of 14, after intermediate school, instead of waiting until university schooling.
Gadhafi said he learned how to use the Internet in 1998, two years after its introduction in the country.
Toward the end, he pulled out a sheet of paper listing yearly incomes in different countries and said he would like to have the personal income in Libya rise from $5,000 a year to about $24,000. He asked the congress members to come up with an economic plan on how to hike salaries and, at the same time, save money.
With respect to savings, he held up a glass of water and said it was too big, and people could not possibly drink all the liquid they poured into it. Smaller glasses would stop them from throwing away excess liquid, he said.
Gadhafi's relations with the United States have long been strained. In 1986, U.S. aircraft bombed Tripoli, and the U.S. government imposed the sanctions it still maintains. The U.S. State Department considers Libya one of seven countries that sponsor terrorism.

Cheney: Bad Guys - Catch Bad Guys
WASHINGTON (AP) - The CIA must change its policy of not paying operatives with ties to terrorist groups when working to uncover schemes against America, Vice President Dick Cheney said Sunday.
Cheney suggested on NBC's ``Meet The Press'' show Sunday that the policy might be tossed in the wake of the destruction of the World Trade Center and an attack on the Pentagon.
``If you're only going to work with officially approved, certified good guys, you are not going to find out what the bad guys are doing,'' Cheney said. ``You have to have on payroll some very unsavory characters. This is a mean, nasty, dangerous, dirty, business. We have to operate in that arena.'' Ah.....say there Cheney...you already do, they are called Federal Agents, of all Branches. They are the REAL Terrorist's here in America.
Cheney also said that CIA director George Tenet should not be used as a ``scapegoat'' in the wake of the terrorist attacks. Why not, you are using Bib Laden as a 'scapegoat'?
``I think George clearly should remain as director of the CIA. I think he and his people do good work,'' Cheney said.
Cheney said security in America's airports must be tightened. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta is forming a task force to make recommendations to him by Oct. 1.
``They needed boxcutters, knives, razorblades and an airline ticket and that is it,'' Cheney said. ``They, in effect, turned our own system against us.'' This guy needs to have another Heart Attack, he is making no sense what-so-ever.
While the CIA had no prior knowledge of the attack last Tuesday, Cheney said the agency has thwarted other recent terrorist plots, ``often in ways we can never talk about.'' Yea, right. You mean you can't talk about the fact that the Trade Tower bombings were a CIA operations........THAT is what you can't talk about!!!!!!!
``But our intelligence is never going to 100 percent effective,'' Cheney said. ``The key is to go eliminate the terrorists.'' No.....the key is to elimante the United States Government. That would stop 90% of the Terrorists activity around the World.
Other members of the Bush administration are also calling for strengthening the nation's ability to thwart terrorists( in other words, removing more of your Civil and Constitutional rights).
Attorney General John Ashcroft said Sunday that the administration would ask Congress for wider latitude in tapping the telephones and computer lines of suspected terrorists ( and this guy CLAIMS to be a Christian??!! If he is, the World has stopped rotating on it's axis!!).
``In terms of wiretapping...its easier to get a wiretap against a drug dealer or someone who's involved in illegal gambling than it is against terrorists,'' Ashcroft said on ``Fox News Sunday.'' And , of course, against you and me.

One of the scenes imprinted in my psyche was when the prison van left the court in Liverpool with the two young boys accused, and later convicted, of the murder of the toddler, James Bulger.
In the wake of this terrible event, those who condemned the two boys for their violent actions proceeded to attack the prison van and screamed that they wanted to kill the kids inside. The mentality that can condemn murder and violence while seeking retribution by the same means must tread the very depths of hypocrisy and self-delusion.
So it is with the oh so predictable attacks on innocent Muslims in America and Britain, people who are no more responsible for what happened in New York and Washington than those who are now seeking to cause them harm for the crime of being a Muslim in a country where the Illuminati government has launched a coldly calculated, pre-arranged, propaganda campaign to demonise the Arab world for its own sick and despicable ends.
The same happened after the Oklahoma bombing in 1995 when rumours that an Arabic group were responsible (the bombing was ordered by George Bush Sr.) began to circulate and the conditioned confusion is such that Arab people are now pointing out that it was actually an American OPs., that turned out to be responsible. So here we have Americans believing that Arabs were behind the horrors of this week while Arabs are saying that people should remember that it was American right-wing fanatic's who stood behind the Oklahoma bomb (specifically the ATF). But BOTH have been manipulated to believe a falsehood. Bin Laden was not the man behind the events of this week and McVeigh was not the man who destroyed the Murrah building. The same force was behind both atrocities and bin Laden and McVeigh are just the fall guys to hide that fact.
The child-like mentality that is now causing suffering for Arabic people in the U.S. and elsewhere has clearly given up any pretence at rational thought. Terrible violence has been perpetrated on the occupants of the Pentagon and the World Trade Center (some of whom will have been Arabic themselves no doubt) and so these silly people believe that they must be violent and hostile to anyone who happens to be of the same genetic stream as those the government is WRONGLY accusing. Beam me up Scotty, it's mad down here.
This is classic example of how the human race is divided and ruled. The manipulated masses of one country are played off against the manipulated masses of another country or countries. What we all need to understand is that it is those who RULE the people within all countries, races, and religions, that we need to focus on because THESE RULERS ARE CONTROLLED BY THE SAME FORCE!!

The leader of Afghanistan's Taliban regime today warned Muslim people all over the world to be ready for a holy war to defend the Islamic faith.
Mullah Mohammad Omar said all Muslims should defend Afghanistan and "should be ready for anything to make a sacrifice for Islam".
Speaking on the Taliban Voice of Shariat Radio, Mr Omar on Friday urged Afghans to prepare for a US assault and stand steadfast "against the enemy".
Exiled Saudi millionaire Osama bin Laden - believed to be hiding out in Afghanistan - is suspected of being responsible for the attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Centre.
The Taliban also vowed to take revenge against any country which attacked it.
"Death comes to everyone. We must stand proud as Afghans in the defence of Islam," Mr Omar said.
"Believe in God, for with the grace of God the American rockets will go astray and we will be saved."
In his radio address, Mr Omar said he would die rather than back down. "I am not afraid
of death or of losing power. I am willing to give up power and my seat, but I'm not willing to give up Islam," he said. "We shall be victorious."
He also stated: "Be ready for jihad (holy war). Each Muslim should ready for a jihad against this and be ready for his religion if there is a need for him to sacrifice himself for Islam and his belief, and make a sacrifice for the symbol of belief in Islam."
Taliban spokesman Abdul Hai Muttmain said: "If a country or group violates our country, we will not forget our revenge."
He would not say how the militia would retaliate. Bin Laden has been living in Afghanistan under the protection of the Taliban since 1996.
The hard-line Islamic militia refuses to hand him over until Washington provides convincing evidence of guilt.
In a written statement on Friday, Mr Omar said US investigators were trying to link bin Laden to this week's attacks "unjustifiably and without any reason".

"The Gulf War was one big lie from beginning to inconclusive end."
American/British Terrorism and Genocide of the Iraqi People, 1991—Present Day
Even the name "Gulf War" is a lie. The so-called Gulf "War" of 1991 was in fact a one-sided American/British state terror campaign directed primarily against the entire Iraqi civilian population and infrastructure. 177 million pounds of bombs were dropped on the people of Iraq in the most concentrated aerial bombardment in the history of the world. In the 110,000 sorties of the six-week onslaught the cowardly American and British pilots (and to a lesser extent French and Saudi pilots) mass-murdered at least 200,000 people, using depleted uranium missiles, napalm, cluster-bombs, fuel-air bombs, cruise missiles and other so-called "smart bombs."
The slaughter of civilian people in the Amariyah bomb shelter was a prime example of this American/British state terrorism. The large shelter was in a residential neighborhood on the west side of Baghdad. Because of the bombing the neighborhood had no electricity or water. People were living in the shelter, hoping to escape from the bombs. Most of them were women, children, elderly, and invalids from a new housing development.
On Feb. 14th, 1991, at about 4:30 am while everybody was sleeping, an American Tomahawk penetrator missile blasted through the steel-reinforced concrete ceiling of the shelter, creating a huge hole about 6 feet wide. Minutes later a second bomb came through the hole, exploded, and burned everyone inside to death. With this one strike American/British war heroes murdered over 400 helpless people.
The Highway of Death
This brutal, bloody terror-campaign, romantically called "Desert Storm," was a cowardly turkey shoot, a horrendous mismatch of military power. Not content with mere victory, sadistic American forces even slaughtered Iraqi soldiers as they tried to flee in a panicked retreat along the main highways from Kuwait to Iraq. It was known as the Highway of Death.
Cowardly U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force jet pilots caught one sixty-mile-long column of fleeing Iraqi soldiers and Palestinian civilian families in vehicles on the Kuwait to Basra highway — and pounded them ruthlessly with bombs and machine-gun fire.
The road, clogged by four lanes of one-way, bumper-to-bumper traffic, was carpet bombed by B-52s dropping 1,000-pound bombs, and repeatedly hit with laser-guided missiles and "smart" bombs.
All the Iraqi soldiers, as well as Palestinian workers and their families, were slaughtered without mercy. The bloodthirsty American pilots gleefully described the massacre as "shooting in a sheep pen."
Depleted uranium weapons
Bullets, shells and missiles tipped with radioactive depleted uranium made every weapon in Iraq's arsenal obsolete. The higher weight of DU shells allows American tanks to shoot twice as far, giving them a range of two miles.
During the Desert Storm terror campaign at least 944,000 rounds of DU ammo were fired
from American A-10 Warthogs all over Iraq and Kuwait. The A-10 is an aircraft built around a 30mm, 7-barrel gattling gun that can spew 3900 rounds per minute.
When a depleted uranium tipped shell strikes a tank or armored personnel carrier it easily penetrates the armor and burns the crew alive. The impact also vaporizes the depleted uranium, creating an aerosol of radioactive heavy-metal particles which can spread as far as 190 miles on the wind.
When inhaled or ingested, the depleted uranium particles cause chemical and radioactive damage to the bronchial tree, kidneys, liver and bones. Cancer often results, and the effects can even include genetic damage.
The Dutch Laka Foundation estimates that the United States terror campaign left behind 300-800 tons of radioactive waste from this ammunition all over Kuwait and Iraq — poisoning the air, the land, the water and the people everywhere.
Afterwards, wherever the depleted uranium firing had been concentrated, there were cancer epidemics among Iraqi civilians living nearby. In the ten years since then, sanctions, polluted water and depleted uranium together have killed somewhere between 1,000,000 and 2,000,000 Iraqi civilian people. At least 600,000 of the dead are children. Cancer rates have quadrupled in areas of southern Iraq bombed by the American and British state terrorists.
The American/British terror campaign continues to this day.
Since it began, thousands of Iraqi babies have been born with horrible birth defects. This is something that has never before been seen in Iraq.
More than 120,000 American Gulf War veterans are chronically ill — suffering from Gulf War Syndrome. A U.S. Department of Veterans study of 251 veteran's families found that 67% had children with severe illnesses or birth defects. From Rogue State
In 1995, Iraqi health officials reported alarmingly high increases in rare and unknown diseases, primarily in children, and presented a study of this state of affairs to the United Nations.
The increases occurred in leukemia, carcinoma, cancers of the lung and digestive system, late-term miscarriages, congenital diseases, and deformities in fetuses, such as anencephaly (absence of a brain), and fused fingers and toes, not unlike those found in the babies of Gulf War veterans.
The Austrian president of the International Yellow Cross, Dr. Siegwart Gunther, stated that there was one significant common denominator: the allies' use of depleted uranium in the bombing of Iraq. Cluster bombs
The Gulf "War" terror campaign saw the most intensive use of cluster-bombs in the history of armed conflict, both air and ground delivered. Southeast Asia, particularly Laos, was more extensively saturated with the deadly weapons during the racist genocide campaign known as the "Vietnam War." But the American war crimes against the Iraqi people were committed in a more concentrated, high-tech form.
Over the course of only 43 days and nights, approximately 62,000-80,000 air-delivered cluster bombs were dropped on the Iraqi people by the American-led state terrorists. In addition, 10,000 MLRS rockets and 100,000 "Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munition" artillery shells were fired. All this translates to about 24-30 million "submunitions" or bomblets. Assuming a dud rate of 5%, it is estimated that the number of dangerous land-mine cluster bomblets lying on or just under the surface of the ground in Iraq and Kuwait would be from 1.2 to 1.5 million. At least.
In the desert, however, the percentage of these duds rose to 30%. So the number of unexploded ordnance still lying in wait for unsuspecting Iraqi children and civilian people could be as high as 7 to 9 million bomblets.
The US General Accounting Office (GAO) reported that at least twenty-five US military personnel were killed and many more injured by these submunitions — fired by their own forces.
A Human Rights Watch report says that of the estimated 24 to 30 million bomblets dropped during the Desert Storm terror campaign, the 1.2 to 1.5 million (at least) that did not immediately explode led to the bloody deaths of 1,220 Kuwaiti and 400 Iraqi people — mostly children — and over 2,500 maimed. And that was in just the first two years after the end of the "war."
With the passage of time cluster bombs become more unstable, making deadly accidental explosions increasingly likely. American cluster bombs will butcher Iraqi children and civilian people for many years to come, as they have done to the people of Southeast Asia for the last 35 years.
Slow Genocide by Economic Sanctions

The filthy American war criminals spent 14 years slaughtering over three million Vietnamese people with carpet-bombing, napalm, Agent Orange, cluster bombs and racist terrorization by hundreds of thousands of murdering, raping, baby-killing American troops. And still they could not subdue the heroic Vietnamese people.
Fearing a repeat of that humiliation, the U.S. Corporate Mafia Government tried a new strategy with the Iraqi people: bomb them into a pre-industrial condition and then grind them into submission with sanctions. No need for invasion and occupation, the Pentagon figured.
So the American/British war criminals systematically targeted Iraq's civilian infrastructure. Schools, hospitals, factories and every industry connected to food production, water purification and irrigation were targeted for destruction.
U.S. Air Force and Navy pilots destroyed a baby formula plant, food warehouses, pharmaceutical plants, fertilizer plants, pesticide plants, storage facilities, refrigeration facilities, electrical generation and communication plants and every single grain silo in the country. All these were destroyed in order to intensify the impoverishing effect of the sanctions.
In the process, U.S. and British pilots slaughtered at least 200,000 Iraqi men, women and children. And of course all these murdered human beings were dismissed by the Pentagon as "collateral damage."
In the 10 years since that carnage, the United Nations estimates that over one million Iraqi civilians — including 600,000 children below the age of five — have died as a result of American sanctions alone.
One of the most important strategies of the 1991 terror-campaign against the civilian Iraqi people was the bombing of numerous water-purification plants. After that the American sanctions prevented Iraqis from getting enough replacement parts to repair most of the plants.
So, just as the evil U.S. and British governments planned, the lack of clean drinking water in Iraq has caused a massive human catastrophe. It is contaminated water, more than anything else, that is killing Iraqi babies and small children, by the thousands, every month. Because they are the most vulnerable they are dying from diarrhea and dysentery primarily, and also diseases such as typhoid, hepatitis, cholera and polio — all caused by bacteria and viruses within the contaminated water.
And just to make the whole diabolical scheme complete, the American sanctions also prevent the Iraqis from acquiring sufficient medicine to treat these deadly diseases.
In an interview of Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on CBS's 60 Minutes, correspondent Lesley Stahl asked her if the death of these 600,000 Iraqi children was "worth it."
Albright's reply:

In December 1998, in order to intensify the suffering of the Iraqi people, the United States and Britain began a campaign of continual low-level bombing of Iraq's infrastructure, including strafing raids against Iraqi agricultural developments. In the past two years the cowardly American/British pilots have flown over 32,000 sorties, murdering at least 350 more civilian people, including many children, and injuring another 1000 people as of mid-2001.

Particularly punished by the sanctions are the ethnic minorities in Iraq that were already severely oppressed, such as the Christian Assyrians. These people have been

WASHINGTON -- A senior senator's disclosure of highly classified information about the U.S. terrorism investigation has infuriated Bush administration officials and led to a clampdown on how much the White House will share with lawmakers.
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, told reporters hours after terrorists crashed hijacked jetliners into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that U.S. intelligence had intercepted a telephone call from a suspect reporting to his handler that the targets in New York City and near Washington had been hit.
"They have an intercept of some information that includes people associated with [Osama] bin Laden who acknowledged a couple of targets were hit," Hatch told The Associated Press. He made similar comments to ABC News and said the information had come from officials at the CIA and FBI.
Electronic intercepts represent some of the most sensitive intelligence possessed by the government. U.S. officials rarely discuss their content because to do so would reveal to adversaries, including foreign governments, that American intelligence had penetrated their sensitive communications.
Hatch's disclosure, with the possibility it would tip off terrorists that their communications had been compromised, left senior officials of the administration dumbfounded and angry.
"Well, that helps a lot!" exclaimed one official, who added an expletive for emphasis, after learning of Hatch's comments.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, without mentioning Hatch's name, said Wednesday that such public statements risk undermining the investigation into Tuesday's attacks by terrorists.
"It's important to underline that, when people deal with intelligence information and make it available to people who are not cleared for that classified information, the effect is to reduce the chances that the United States government has to track down and deal with the people who have perpetrated the attacks on the United States and killed so many Americans," Rumsfeld told reporters.
He described "people who ought to know better" who would disclose such information as being "willing to violate federal criminal statutes and willing to frustrate our efforts to track down and deal with terrorists."
A Pentagon official said Rumsfeld was concerned by Hatch's comments as well as others.
In an interview with the Tribune, Hatch testily denied he had disclosed any classified information.
"I have been here 25 years and I have never violated a classified matter, and I never will," Hatch said. He said no one with the Bush administration had contacted him about his comments about the telephone intercept.
Hatch has not been the only lawmaker to emerge from classified briefings this week and discuss sensitive information.
One side effect of such leaks, said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), has been that the administration's briefings in Room 407 of the Capitol, a secure facility, have become gradually less informative.
Amid all of the leaking, McCain said, "I can understand then why we go to these meetings in 407 and I receive much less information than I do from turning on the television set."

Ex-President George H. Bush accused of war crimes and political killings
Accusation no 1: Bush Alleged To Have Killed Japanese Fishermen: Former US president and CIA chief George H. Bush, the father of the current US President George W. Bush, has been accused throughout his life of being involved either with terrorism, the Mafia, and drug trafficking, either during his time as CIA director (1976-1977) or his term as Vice President (1980-1988) or President (1989-1992). Apart from his alleged involvement in the CIA during the Kennedy assassination, he is also said to have carried out violations of the Geneva Convention as a US fighter pilot during the war. He was alleged to have killed Japanese trawler men in a lifeboat whilst a fighter-pilot during the second world war. The latest person to make these allegations is the former Panamanian dictator and CIA stooge, General Manuel Noriega, who is presently serving a 40 year jail sentence in the USA. Calling Bush a "cold blooded killer", he repeats the story that Bush had found Japanese trawler men in a lifeboat, who all had their hands up, but Bush shot them anyway. According to The Observer, Bush has always refused to respond to accusations that he killed Japanese trawler men whose ship he sunk in 1944.(1)
In his interview with The Observer, Noreiga also alleged that Bush, when he was CIA chief in 1976, was responsible for a bomb blast in Panama that destroyed a car owned by William Drummond, a prominent US resident of the American occupied Canal Zone. He was a vocal critic of the negotiations between the US and Panama, and the blast was said to have been "arranged" by the CIA in an attempt to pressurise US residents to end their resistance to the treaty. Noreiga says:
"the US embassy in Panama didn't known about 'Bush's scheme' and got nervous . . . so Bush had to calm the embassy down - he created a problem to solve a problem".
Bush denies Noreiga's claims.
Bush was CIA director from 1976 until 1977. Some background information on this period discussed by William Blum in The CIA: A Forgotten History. During the mid-seventies, the CIA poured money into the Cuban exile terrorist groups such as Omega 7 and Alpha 66, who used the US soil as a "safe haven" to launch attacks on Cuba and it's perceived supporters in the US. In 1976, a bomb was discovered at the New York Academy of Music shortly before a celebration of the 1959 Cuban Revolution was about to begin and a bombing of the Lincoln centre after the Cuban ballet had performed.
Japan indicts Bush as war criminal: In early 1997, Bush was further indicted as a alleged war criminal by the Japanese government. This was in response to the US decision to bar 16 Japanese citizens from the USA for alleged war crimes committed during the second world war. A Japanese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hiroshi Hashimoto announced that 10 American's would be barred from Japan for their "war crimes, crimes against humanity, and violations of human rights". Top of the list was George Bush for "the murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, including thousands of children, in attacks on Iraq and Panama" in 1990 and 1988. The other alleged war criminals were: General's Colin Powell and "Stormin" Norman Schwarzkopf, former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, and other US military and government figures such as Colonel Oliver North, Henry Kissinger, Robert MacNamara, CIA director John Deutch and Elliot Abrams.(5)
Accusation no 2: Echoes of Lockerbie - the bomb that blew up a Cuban airliner in 1976 But by far the most serious act of terrorism alleged against the CIA, when Bush was it's chief, was the blowing up of a Cuban Airlines plane shortly after it took of from Barbados on 6th October 1976. The attack, which was claimed by a then new Cuban exile terrorist group called CORU, killed 73 people, including the entire Cuban Olympic championship fencing team. (2)
Proof has recently emerged of the lengths that the CIA would go to carry out acts of terrorism against civilian targets and, even more pertinently, how the agency was prepared to fabricate evidence "providing irrevocable proof" that Cuba was responsible for terrorist actions which they knew Cuba was not involved in. The Guardian reported the existence of Operation Dirty Trick - a plan to blame Cuba for any mishap during John Glenn's pioneering Earth orbit flight on February 20th 1962. This would be accomplished by "manufacturing various pieces of evidence" which would "prove" electronic interference by Cuba. This evidence was among 1500 pages of classified documents released by the Assassination Records Review Board - the agency that oversees the release of papers
connected with the murder of President Kennedy in 1963.
In a March 1962, an U.S. army memorandum entitled Possible Actions to Provoke, Harass or Disrupt Cuba suggested "downing a US plane and blaming it on Mr Castro", or showing "convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has shot down a chartered civilian airliner". It also proposed sinking a U.S. warship - and presumably killing their own servicemen - "which could be blamed on Cuba". The CIA would use Cuban exile terrorists who would fly close to the island to "distract local pilots with radio conversation's with the aim of causing the crash".
The memo also proposed developing a strategy of tension with exile groups that involved a plan to "sink a boatload of Cubans en route for Florida". This has the U.S. planning acts of treason and piracy on the high seas as well as indiscriminate terrorist acts against civilian airliners in it's ambition to remove the popular government of President Castro, and replace it with the mobsters and autocrats who supported the Batista regime until the revolution in 1959.(3)
Accusation no 3: involvement in the murder of Orlando Letelier and Ronni Moffitt in 1976 This is relevant because when Bush was CIA director, Salvador Allende's former ambassador to the USA, Orlando Letelier and his assistant Ronni Moffitt were murdered on September 21st, 1976, when a remote-controlled bomb ripped apart Letelier's car as they drove down Massachusetts Avenue, a stately section of Washington known as Embassy Row. Allende, the world's first democratically elected Marxist President was ousted in a bloody CIA-backed coup that lead to his assassination in 1973. The attack on Letelier was later attributed to CORU.
Within four months of forming in 1976, CORU claimed to have killed 76 people in North and South America, including Letelier. CORU were later described as a terrorist group which had "the active support of the CIA". CORU members also had close links with Chile's feared secret police, DINA, which was also implicated in the murder of Letelier. Two Cuban exiles and a US citizen were later charged with Letelier's murder.(4) Many CORU members served with the CIA's contra terrorist movement in Nicaragua.
Under George Bush, the CIA leaked a false report that not only cleared Chile's military dictatorship - it pointed the FBI in the wrong direction. The bogus CIA assessment, was spread through Newsweek magazine and other American media outlets, was planted despite CIA's now admitted awareness at the time that Chile was participating in Operation Condor, a cross-border campaign targeting political dissidents, and the CIA's own suspicions that the Chilean junta was behind the terrorist bombing in Washington, according to the author Robert Parry writing on the website consortiumnews.com.
In a 21-page report to Congress on September 18th 2000, the CIA officially acknowledged for the first time that the mastermind of the terrorist attack, Chilean intelligence chief Manuel Contreras, was a paid asset of the CIA. The new report was issued almost 24 years to the day after the murder Letelier and Moffitt. In the new report, the CIA also acknowledged publicly for the first time that it consulted Contreras in October 1976 about the Letelier assassination. The report added that the CIA was aware of the alleged Chilean government role in the murders and included that suspicion in an internal cable the same month.
Bush, who is the father of the current of the current Rresident, if you could call him a President - I think puppet is much more aphropo, has never explained his role in putting out the false cover story that diverted attention away from the real terrorists. Nor has Bush explained what he knew about the Chilean intelligence operation in the weeks before Letelier and Moffitt were killed. In 1988, Parry said that when the then-Vice President Bush was citing his CIA work as an important part of his government experience, he submitted questions to him asking about his actions in the days before and after the Letelier bombing. Bush's chief of staff, Craig Fuller, wrote back, saying Bush "will have no comment on the specific issues raised in your letter."
Accusation no 3: knowledge of state terrorism in Italy In February 2000, according to The Guardian (6), Bush may be called to give evidence in a terrorism trial, amid claims that the "CIA knew of a rightwing bombing campaign in Italy 30 years ago". Four neo-fascist suspects are accused of planting a bomb in Milan on December 12th 1969, killing 16 people. It is widely accepted that this bombing, and subsequent attacks (like the Bologna railway massacre in 1980), were part of a "strategy of tension" to destabilse the country and "reduce electoral support for the Communist party". One of the suspects, Carlo Digilio is alleged, like his father, to have been a
CIA informant. An investigating judge, Guido Salvini said that:
American agents were responsible for promoting the strategy of tension, even though they did not intervene directly but through orgainsations whose actions could not be traced to them.
Apparently, a key issue in the trial is whether US agents were aware of preparations for the bombing and "did nothing", or worse, as the newspaper noted, "they promoted it". Thus, the court is to decide whether to call all the CIA heads from 1960 to the present, including Bush, to testify. According to Puppet Masters: The Political Use of Terrorism in Italy by Philip Willan (Constable, London, 1993), Bush is alleged to had a close relationship with Lucio Gelli, the infamous head of the P2 masonic lodge. Gelli said in an interview, in which he was careful to claim that he had only met Bush in 1981, not when he was CIA director in 1976, that he once spent a whole week with George Bush at the time of his inauguration as Vice President in 1981. Willan wonders:
"What could the two men, who had only just met, have discussed for an entire week ?"
Two years after Bush left the CIA, the Italian Prime Minister was murdered in May 1978, ostensibly by the Red Brigades, and in September 1978, the Pope died in disputed circumstances. Puppet Masters details how the first phase of state terrorism, which lasted in Italy until 1974, was
"Characterized by right-wing terrorism and, in particluar, by indiscriminate bombings against the public"
Willan shows how this strategy of tension was the result of secret NATO accords and was "sanctioned at the highest level of the Atlantic Alliance" - something the CIA would have been closely involved in. Thus, the reason why Bush could be called to give evidence in Italy.
One thing that the Bush family is said to be worried about is the release of General Manuel Noriega from jail in the USA. If this happens he could spill on the beans on the CIA's links to the cocaine industry in Latin America that played such a vital role in the arming and financing of the Contra terrorists in Nicaragua during the 1980's. Also, their is the possibility that, at last, the CIA and ex-President Bush will be held to account for the murder in Washington of Letelier and their support for the coup in Chile that bought the fascist General Pinochet to power.

At the CIA, it happens often enough to have a code name: Blowback. Simply defined, this is the term that describes an agent, an operative or an operation that has turned on its creators. Osama bin Laden, our new public enemy Number 1, is the personification of blowback. And the fact that he is viewed as a hero by millions in the Islamic world proves again the old adage: Reap what you sow.
BEFORE YOU SPIT on my face and call me naive, let me concede some points. Yes, the West needed Josef Stalin to defeat Hitler. Yes, there were times during the Cold War when supporting one villain (Cambodia's Lon Nol, for instance) would have been better than the alternative (Pol Pot). So yes, there are times when any nation must hold its nose and shake hands with the devil for the long-term good of the planet. But just as surely, there are times when the United States, faced with such moral dilemmas, should have resisted the temptation to act. Arming a multi-national coalition of Islamic extremists in Afghanistan during the 1980s - well after the destruction of the Marine barracks in Beirut or the hijacking of TWA Flight 847 - was one of those times.

As anyone who has bothered to read this far certainly knows by now, bin Laden is the heir to Saudi construction fortune who, here forat least since the early 1990s, has used that a list of money to finance countless attacks on U.S. attacks interests and those of its Arab allies around that Binthe world. As his unclassified CIA biography states, bin Laden left Saudi Arabia to fight the Soviet army in Afghanistan after Moscow's invasion in 1979. By 1984, he was running a front organization known as Maktab al-Khidamar - the MAK - which funneled money, arms and
fighters from the outside world into the Afghan war. What the CIA bio conveniently fails to specify (in its unclassified form, at least) is that the MAK was nurtured by Pakistan's state security services, the Inter-Services Intelligence agency, or ISI, the CIA's primary conduit for conducting the covert war against Moscow's occupation.
Taliban militiamen watch as one ofBy no means was Osama bin Laden the their tanks light leader of Afghanistan's mujahedeen. His money up an opposition gave him undue prominence in the Afghan position northeaststruggle, but the vast majority of those who of Kabul on Aug. fought and died for Afghanistan's freedom - 15. like the Taliban regime that now holds sway over most of that tortured nation - were Afghan nationals.
Yet the CIA, concerned about the factionalism of Afghanistan made famous by Rudyard Kipling, found that Arab zealots who flocked to aid the Afghans were easier to "read" than the rivalry-ridden natives. While the Arab volunteers might well prove troublesome later, the agency reasoned, they at least were one-dimensionally anti-Soviet for now. So bin Laden, along with a small group of Islamic militants from Egypt, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria and Palestinian refugee camps all over the Middle East, became the "reliable" partners of the CIA in its war against Moscow.
WHAT'S 'INTELLIGENT' ABOUT THIS? Though he has come to represent all that went wrong with the CIA's reckless strategy there, by the end of the Afghan war in 1989, bin Laden was still viewed by the agency as something of a dilettante - a rich Saudi boy gone to war and welcomed home by the Saudi monarchy he so hated as something of a hero.
America strikes back
In fact, while he returned to his family's construction business, bin Laden had split from the relatively conventional MAK in 1988 and established a new group, al-Qaida, that included many of the more extreme MAK members he had met in Afghanistan. Exiled Saudi Most of these dissident Osama binAfghan vets, or Laden is seen in Afghanis, as the Arabs who fought there this April, 1998 became known, turned up later behind violent photo inIslamic movements around the world. Among Afghanistan. them: the GIA in Algeria, thought responsible for the massacres of tens of thousands of civilians; Egypt's Gamat Ismalia, which has massacred western tourists repeatedly in recent years; Saudi Arabia Shiite militants, responsible for the Khobar Towers and Riyadh bombings of 1996.
Indeed, to this day, those involved in the decision to give the Afghan rebels access to a fortune in covert funding and top-level combat weaponry continue to defend that move in the context of the Cold War. Sen. Orrin Hatch, a senior Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee making those decisions, told my colleague Robert Windrem that he would make the same call again today even knowing what bin Laden would do subsequently.
"It was worth it," he said. "Those were very important, pivotal matters that played an important role in the downfall of the Soviet Union," he said.
HINDSIGHT OR TUNNEL VISION
It should be pointed out that the evidence of bin Laden's connection to these activities is mostly classified, though its hard to imagine the CIA rushing to take credit for a Frankenstein's monster like this. It is also worth acknowledging that it is easier now to oppose the CIA's Afghan adventures than it was when Hatch and company made them in the mid-1980s. After all, in 1998 we now know that far larger elements than Afghanistan were corroding the communist party's grip on power in Moscow.
Even Hatch can't be blamed completely. The CIA, ever mindful of the need to justify its "mission," had conclusive evidence by the mid-1980s of the deepening crisis of infrastructure within the Soviet Union. The CIA, as its deputy director William Gates acknowledged under congressional questioning in 1992, had decided to keep that evidence from President Reagan and his top advisors and instead continued to grossly exaggerate Soviet military and technological capabilities in its annual "Soviet Military Power" report right up to 1990. Given that context, a decision was made to provide America's potential enemies with the arms, money - and most importantly - the knowledge of how to run a war of attrition violent and well-organized enough to humble a superpower. That decision is coming home to roost.

Televised images of the attacks on the World Trade Center suggest that explosives devices caused the collapse of both towers, a New Mexico Tech explosion expert said Tuesday.
The collapse of the buildings appears "too methodical" to be a chance result of airplanes colliding with the structures, said Van Romero, vice president for research at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
"My opinion is, based on the videotapes, that after the airplanes hit the World Trade Center there were some explosive devices inside the buildings that caused the towers to collapse," Romero said.
Romero is a former director of the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center at Tech, which studies explosive materials and the effects of explosions on buildings, aircraft and other structures. Romero said he based his opinion on video aired on national television broadcasts.
Romero said the collapse of the structures resembled those of controlled implosions used to demolish old structures.
"It would be difficult for something from the plane to trigger an event like that," Romero said in a phone interview from Washington, D.C.
Romero said he and another Tech administrator were on a Washington-area subway when an airplane struck the Pentagon.
He said he and Denny Peterson, vice president for administration and finance, were en route to an office building near the Pentagon to discuss defense-funded research programs at Tech.
If explosions did cause the towers to collapse, the detonations could have been caused by a small amount of explosive, he said.
"It could have been a relatively small amount of explosives placed in strategic points," Romero said. The explosives likely would have been put in more than two points in each of the towers, he said. The detonation of bombs within the towers is consistent with a common terrorist strategy, Romero said.
"One of the things terrorist events are noted for is a diversionary attack and secondary device," Romero said.
Attackers detonate an initial, diversionary explosion that attracts emergency personnel to the scene, then detonate a second explosion, he said.
Romero said that if his scenario is correct, the diversionary attack would have been the
collision of the planes into the towers.
Tech President Dan Lopez said Tuesday that Tech had not been asked to take part in the investigation into the attacks. Tech often assists in forensic investigations into terrorist attacks, often by setting off similar explosions and studying the effects. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An Italian Priest who knew what would happen?
There was a very interesting current-affairs debating programme on "Rai Uno" (an Italian TV channel) last night (14/09/2001), called "Porta a Porta". Unfortunately, I don't have it video-taped.
Anyway, there was a priest as a guest (don't have his name, sorry, but I can research further if you want), who is known to have said as speaker at a conference, four days before the plane attacks, that Arabs could take over a commericial passenger jet, and steer it into a high structure.
Also on the programme were the Italian Minister of the Interior, the Minister of the Exterior, and the Minister of Defense. They, and the show's presenter, kept asking him how the hell he could have predicted what happened so precisely. The priest evaded answering the question each time, and kept blabbing on about bin Laden's extensive worldwide network, instead. They didn't let him off the hook, and kept asking him, how the hell he knew. The Minister of the Interior became quite serious about it, but still the priest didn't reveal how. They were exasperated that he wouldn't tell, and in the end the show had to go on, and they let it drop.
This information may be irrelevant to the idea of a general conspiracy. The priest may have psychic powers, or that it's a co-incidence that he said it when he did. But his refusal to answer the question spoke volumes that there was 'more to it'.
I know wonder whether the Italian authorities will take him in for questioning, or force him to take truth drugs, to get the knowledge out of him.

US State Department Sponsors Training of Would-Be Terrorists
Huntsville, Alabama - The US State Department sponsors the training of would-be terrorists at the Redstone Arsenal's Hazardous Devices School, which offers "explosive ordinance disposal training."
This is the most exclusive explosives school in the United States. It's where firemen, policemen, and municipal bomb squads are trained. It also provides training for the US armed forces, FBI, CIA, as well as foreign army and intelligence personnel. This is the most elite of the munitions schools in the United States and it's part of the Redstone Arsenal complex.
This facility is not run by the US Army or by the military. It is technically run by US State Department employee Ray Funderberg, who's been covertly in charge of it for about twenty years. An added note -- although Funderberg works for the State Department, he dresses in a US Army Colonel's uniform. Official records indicate that he supposedly works for the FBI.
According to a reliable source, one of the Iranians involved in the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York, took training courses at the Redstone Arsenal's school of explosives. He enrolled in this course under the guise of a Pakistani military officer with Pakistani uniform and credentials. This is important to note because Al Martin Raw has previously reported that many hostile nations have a visible presence at the US Redstone Arsenal. Evidently "terrorists," as well as regular armed forces and intelligence officers, are also being "trained" at the Redstone Arsenal.
In other news, five new shipments of "marshmallows" (anti-personnel land mines) have left the Redstone Arsenal. And this week the Friendly Colonel is once again doing business under the "Gulf Coast Trucking and Receiving" moniker.
An inside source wants the Friendly Colonel to provide the State Department employment forms necessary to bring more people in. One of the arms merchants has a deal with the Russians to bring Palestinians into this explosives training program.
For instance, Palestinians would be brought in -- technically as members of the Chinese (Taiwan) Army, even though they are Palestinians. They would hardly pass as "Chinese," but since nobody cares, it's a done deal. Al Martin Raw readers should understand that no one asks any questions about any thing at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
In fact, there are two Palestinians being trained there now in "explosives." As mentioned before, none of them are who they appear to be. It's all just convenience for paperwork. In case the Redstone Arsenal gets investigated, they will claim, "No, these people are
legitimate; here's the paperwork."
Suddenly an Afghani guy named Mohammed Habib winds up being a Colonel Sven Larssen in the Swedish Army. This is an actual case. And it shows just how ridiculous it is.
This deception at the Hazardous Devices School is really another School of Americas story. The Friendly Colonel is being offered a $12,000 fee per person to fill out the appropriate State department documents to allow people into the United States on green cards for short stays - 30, 60, 90 day stays - and to enlist foreign nationals into this program. What they're doing is using this program as a cover to bring people in to be trained at the explosives school. The US State Department is actually conspiring with foreign arms merchants and the governments they represent to allow hostile foreign nationals to come to the United States using false documents to be trained at this facility.
They're asking the Friendly Colonel if he would "hire" these people as "trucking agents." (See previous story, Marshmallow Business Is Booming). To make this offer even more appealing, the Colonel is guaranteed that "there will be no heat" - because the US State Department is complicit. This is a standing offer to him from the State Department - to provide false documents for these foreign nationals for $12,000 each.
Aiding in this enormous illegal covert operation of the United States Government, the Colonel expects to make a million dollars by this time next year.
It is our opinion that these illicit operations at the Redstone Arsenal and adjoining facilities - US Missile Command etc - now exceed the volumes of money and egregious conduct of Iran-Contra itself. Now there are thousands of people involved making millions of dollars.
At lunch, the brigadier general and others involved were all licking their chops at the new F-22 Raptor program. They can't wait for that to get scaled up. There will be many Chinese arms merchants who will supply fraudulent spare parts that don't work as usual. They're looking at this program as "a fresh source to defraud more billions with the Department of Defense with the complicity of senior officers through a complex offshore network of arms dealers, not only foreign arms dealers, but cutouts for American corporations that are producing components and systems for this aircraft.
The bottom line is that we are training individuals and foreign military personnel who are hostile to the United States.
Al Martin Raw readers should also understand how the fraud is systemic, how the fraud is all inter-connected, and how conspiratorial the fraud is, namely that it's all being controlled by an elite group that runs through foreign governments, the Department of Defense, and defense contractors.
Their agenda is clear - terrorism is good for business.
Terrorism pumps up everybody's budgets, especially defense, law enforcement, interdiction, etc.
As long as we can keep "foreign terrorism" alive, everyone benefits -- the Department of Defense, the CIA, Department of State, the National Security Agency and many others. They can all ask for more money in their budgets by pointing to the "terrorists." We are in effect augmenting that threat, making sure it stays alive and healthy, so that federal agencies can be funded with ever-increasing amounts of money, especially those agencies that do not have to account for the expenditures of those monies.

The brigadier general who's in charge was actually concerned because he and his associates (higher-ranking generals in the Department of Defense, who are committing these frauds) have been notified by the foreign banks where they have deposits that their deposits have grown to such enormous amounts of money that they are unmanageable. They are being asked to transfer their money into other offshore illicit accounts. Some of the banks they're doing business with are very small and obscure offshore banks that simply can not handle such enormous flows of money.
But you can understand the enormity of the fraud, when you're talking about trillions of dollars. This fraud is deep and systemic and involves a conspiracy of thousands of high ranking military officers, high ranking State Department officials, Department of Justice officials, CIA, National Security Agency officials, etc. and their "foreign counterparts."
This is the "Very Real Vast Right Wing Conspiracy," which has never been called to accounting.
Now the Russians are coming on board with the ABM missile treaty. It can be predicted that the Russians will drop their objections to our development of an ABM system in
exchange for advanced US military technology, with which, by the way, we are already supplying the Russians and covertly rearming them. That was just an offer on the table, yet we are already supplying the Russians with US highly advanced technology. Like the notorious School of Americas which trained foreign nationals in American torture, interrogation and warfare techniques, the US State Department trains "terrorists.".
In the final analysis, though, nothing is new. The United States Government has covertly sponsored these activities in the past, especially during "Iran-Contra" and "Iraq-Gate." We virtually built the Iraqi military and there are many past correlations. For instance, the US did not stop supplying Iraq with illegal weapons systems until three days before the beginning of the Gulf War.
During "Iran-Contra," the US allowed the Sandinista regime to deal in narcotics so they could generate revenues to purchase more East Bloc weapons in order to become a greater threat to the US, so we could counter that threat by building the Contra Army in which all sorts of fraud against the American taxpayers, corporations, security firms, and banks could be hidden.
It is interesting to note that the Sandinista regime used two of the same companies to purchase weapons for the Contras as well as the Sandinistas. These companies were TransWorld Armaments Corp, based in Quebec City and owned by the infamous Immanuel von Weigensburg and Defcon Industries of Lisbon, Portugal, a CIA-controlled arms merchant cutout also controlled by Major General Richard V. Secord, as noted in the famous Lake Resources lawsuit (United States v. Richard Secord, cv 1202-A 1991 Eastern District Court of Virginia) . Iraq Gate and Iran Contra are perfect examples of how similar these two operations are compared to what's going on now. We are creating an enemy and we are also supporting existing enemies for the purpose of enriching a small clique of defense contractors, senior military and intelligence officers, and politicians on the right. We are financing terrorism against us as well as attempting to rebuild Russia and then build China into a new power under the concept that covert wars are very profitable.
The "Fight Against Terrorism" has done an awful lot for the Republican Party. And it has enriched a lot of people and corporations.

A special State Department Internal Security team from the political liability control office was inserted quickly after the incident into the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama.
The Demolition School has been shut down, and they are shredding documents as we speak. As a matter of fact they have made an emergency request to the Department of Defense for more shredders.
According to the general on the scene, the way the Feds are handling the situation is that the Redstone Arsenal is now "locked up tighter than a bull's ass in fly season." And there is a mass shredding party going on.
This guy Funderberg has been moved to an undisclosed location, so the media can't find him. And everybody at the Redstone Arsenal that wore a towel on their heads isn't there anymore. U.S. GOVERNMENT PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF EMERGENCY AMERICA'S REICHSTAG FIRE

The most massive so-called "terrorist" attacks on U.S. soil since the Oklahoma City bombings of 1995, were known, a week ahead of time, by the American CIA. Among the foreign intelligence agencies who penetrated the plots were the French CIA and Israel's The Mossad, units of both often working with one another.
Foreign intelligence sources confirm the validity of this story. And they state that they informed the U.S. secret police who absolutely failed, neglected, and outright refused to take action as to known prior specifics of which the top-level of the CIA were informed in advance.
As made known to the CIA, were the following, among other details
[1] That George Herbert Walker Bush, as President, at the close of the Persian Gulf War, 1991, arranged to bring into the U.S. some four thousand Iraqi military officers, some from intelligence units, and their families.
[2] Some 550 of these officers became residents in Lincoln, Nebraska, AND TWO THOUSAND OF THEM took up residence in Oklahoma City. In a watered down story, CBS' "60 Minutes"
Program did a segment once on this about Lincoln, Nebraska but said NOTHING about the Iraqi military officers in Oklahoma City.
[3] The financial and other provisions for them and their families were arranged by the Elder Bush, and then quietly continued by Bill Clinton as President, and perpetuated by George W. Bush as White House "resident" and "occupant". The arrangements included financial subsidies, housing, and employment for the Iraqi officers.
[A brave Oklahoma City TV Reporter, Jayna Davis, on their local TV station, put on the air several stories about the Iraqi connection to the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building, the bombing done with the aid of domestic dissidents as surrogates. A group bought out the TV station and silenced her. Timothy McVeigh's chief defense counsel for the murder trial, Stephen Jones, on behalf of McVeigh, filed an extra-ordinary petition in the next higher court, just prior to the murder trial. To no avail, Jones tried to force Denver U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch to compel the American CIA to disgorge records held by them showing prior U.S. knowledge of the bombing, as confirmed by other known records, some of them also in secret court records. We have a copy of the 185 page U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit, petition filed by Jones and almost uniformly ignored by the American monopoly press. The petition raises the Iraqi connection.]
[4] The foreign intelligence agencies informed the American CIA that guns would be planted on-board as many as ten U.S. commercial airflights. This to be done by airplane clean-up crew members who are generally not subject to airport security provisions. These workers most likely did not know the purpose of the gun-planting.
[5] The CIA also was informed prior to the "terrorist" attacks scheduled for "911" Emergency Day [September 11], that highly skilled Iraqi pilots, among the four thousand Iraqi officers resident in the U.S., would take over the commercial flights, by retrieving the weapons concealed onboard, and then commandeering the flight deck.
[6] The Elder Bush, Clinton, and George W. Bush, all were in a position to know that the Iraqi officers that they provided for included some double-agents. The FBI Counter-Intelligence Division at no time was instructed to do anything about these double-agents in a position to commit mischief, murder, and mayhem, on U.S. soil.
[7] As I revealed a week prior to the "terrorist" attacks, some foreign television networks were busy preparing lengthy documentaries that would scandalize George W. Bush and other members of the Bush Family, including the Elder Bush and Jeb Bush. The subject matter included how forty million dollars in dope funds were used by the Bush Family to reportedly corrupt South Florida DEMOCRATS to abandon the recount even ahead of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling installing George W. Bush as the "resident" and "occupant" of the White House. The dope funds came reportedly from Bush Family business partner, Carlos Lehder, co-founder of the U.S./Colombia medellin dope cartel. [8] As part of the targetting of the World Trade Center buildings, a group of surrogates for the Iraqi military officers, reportedly spent considerable time within one of the buildings, with building security officers somehow oblivious of their presence.
[9] As the CIA top officials were informed and had prior knowledge, the purpose of the "terrorist" attacks was to effectively paralyze the financial infrastructure of the U.S. Some of the most important stock and bond houses in the world, with their key people having loads of inside knowledge and hard to replace trading tricks and expertise, were located in the known-to-be-targetted twin towers of the World Trade Center, New York City. It was like blowing up the main "financial factory" and destroying their inventory. The so-called "back-up" records kept parked across the river in New Jersey, are not only inadequate but cannot help reconstruct various accounts and transactions in the works.
Financial experts tell us the "back up" records parked in New Jersey, may NOT be sufficient to re-start the American financial apparatus. Some of the experts are loudly grumbling that they should have early on seen Federal Reserve Czar Alan Greenspan on the television explaining about the financial ramifications. Of course, some suppose that Americans would panic and run out of control. So we are dealt with like little children.
[10] It is a serious mistake, according to savvy American and foreign intelligence sources, to blame the Emergency all on Osama bin Laden. As readers of our website are aware, we have long pointed out that bin Laden is reportedly in the Mid-East Construction
business. His reputed partners? The family of Sharon PERCY Rockefeller. She is the wife of John D. Rockefeller 4th (D., W.Va.), great grandson of the founder of the infamous Standard Oil Trust that used to bomb their own obsolete buildings to falsely blame onto their competitors. Bin Laden's so-called "secret" accounts, which the White House has said they would like to freeze, are or have been actually reportedly in the Harris Bank, Chicago, joint accounts with the family of Sharon PERCY Rockefeller.
[11] The Saudi Royal Family actually consists of some five thousand members, some of whom actually are for the U.S. and some anti-U.S. Some of them have bankrolled Iraq's war against Iran, 1980 to 1988, to destroy some oil facilities and keep the price of oil HIGH. The foreign intelligence agencies, that penetrated the plots to be carried out on U.S. soil, are aware that some of the Saudi royals are actually sympathetic to the Iraqis destroying the World Trade Center Buildings and in part, wrecking the Pentagon. [As if the American CIA did not ALREADY have their own knowledge of this.]
Whenever there is a political assassination or some other unusual violent event, what is the key question the oil-soaked, spy-riddled monopoly press ALWAYS fails to ask? WHO BENEFITS. With a scandal about to break against George W. Bush, he and his circle had an interest NOT to stop these things from happening. And to divert attention. The White House has a strong motive to silence critics and urge people TO RALLY AROUND THE PRESIDENT. Simple-minded folks, of course, often poorly informed,do not understand how the ruling classes would shed the blood of thousands if not millions of innocent people, in some instigated war, to avoid dealing with the apparent on-coming economic disasters.
In the midst of this prior-knowledge emergency, who dares now to point to the Bush Family as reputed business partners of the major kingpin, Carlos Lehder, of the U.S./Colombia medellin dope cartel? Or how huge dope money bought the Electoral College trick in Florida and corrupted the U.S. Supreme Court's "gang of five".

Who Is Ousmane Bin Laden?

A few hours after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, the Bush administration concluded without supporting evidence, that "Ousmane bin Laden and his al-Qaeda organisation were prime suspects". CIA Director George Tenet stated that bin Laden has the capacity to plan ``multiple attacks with little or no warning.'' Secretary of State Colin Powell called the attacks "an act of war" and President Bush confirmed in an evening televised address to the Nation that he would "make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them". Former CIA Director James Woolsey pointed his finger at "state sponsorship," implying the complicity of one or more foreign governments. In the words of former National Security Adviser, Lawrence Eagleburger, "I think we will show when we get attacked like this, we are terrible in our strength and in our retribution."
Meanwhile, parroting official statements, the Western media mantra has approved the launching of "punitive actions" directed against civilian targets in the Middle East. In the words of William Saffire writing in the New York Times: "When we reasonably determine our attackers' bases and camps, we must pulverize them -- minimizing but accepting the risk of collateral damage" -- and act overtly or covertly to destabilize terror's national hosts".
The following text outlines the history of Ousmane Bin Laden and the links of the Islamic "Jihad" to the formulation of US foreign policy during the Cold War and its aftermath.
Prime suspect in the New York and Washington terrorists attacks, branded by the FBI as an "international terrorist" for his role in the African US embassy bombings, Saudi born Ousmane bin Laden was recruited during the Soviet-Afghan war "ironically under the auspices of the CIA, to fight Soviet invaders". 1
In 1979 "the largest covert operation in the history of the CIA" was launched in response to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in support of the pro-Communist government of Babrak Kamal.2:
With the active encouragement of the CIA and Pakistan's ISI [Inter Services Intelligence], who wanted to turn the Afghan jihad into a global war waged by all Muslim
states against the Soviet Union, some 35,000 Muslim radicals from 40 Islamic countries joined Afghanistan's fight between 1982 and 1992. Tens of thousands more came to study in Pakistani madrasahs. Eventually more than 100,000 foreign Muslim radicals were directly influenced by the Afghan jihad.3
The Islamic "jihad" was supported by the United States and Saudi Arabia with a significant part of the funding generated from the Golden Crescent drug trade:
In March 1985, President Reagan signed National Security Decision Directive 166,...[which] authorize[d] stepped-up covert military aid to the mujahideen, and it made clear that the secret Afghan war had a new goal: to defeat Soviet troops in Afghanistan through covert action and encourage a Soviet withdrawal. The new covert U.S. assistance began with a dramatic increase in arms supplies -- a steady rise to 65,000 tons annually by 1987, ... as well as a "ceaseless stream" of CIA and Pentagon specialists who traveled to the secret headquarters of Pakistan's ISI on the main road near Rawalpindi, Pakistan. There the CIA specialists met with Pakistani intelligence officers to help plan operations for the Afghan rebels.4
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) using Pakistan's military Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) played a key role in training the Mujahideen. In turn, the CIA sponsored guerrilla training was integrated with the teachings of Islam:
Predominant themes were that Islam was a complete socio-political ideology, that holy Islam was being violated by the atheistic Soviet troops, and that the Islamic people of Afghanistan should reassert their independence by overthrowing the leftist Afghan regime propped up by Moscow.5
Pakistan's Intelligence Apparatus Pakistan's ISI was used as a "go-between". The CIA covert support to the "jihad" operated indirectly through the Pakistani ISI, --i.e. the CIA did not channel its support directly to the Mujahideen. In other words, for these covert operations to be "successful", Washington was careful not to reveal the ultimate objective of the "jihad", which consisted in destroying the Soviet Union.
In the words of CIA's Milton Beardman "We didn't train Arabs". Yet according to Abdel Monam Saidali, of the Al-aram Center for Strategic Studies in Cairo, bin Laden and the "Afghan Arabs" had been imparted "with very sophisticated types of training that was allowed to them by the CIA" 6
CIA's Beardman confirmed, in this regard, that Ousmane bin Laden was not aware of the role he was playing on behalf of Washington. In the words of bin Laden (quoted by Beardman): "neither I, nor my brothers saw evidence of American help". 7
Motivated by nationalism and religious fervor, the Islamic warriors were unaware that they were fighting the Soviet Army on behalf of Uncle Sam. While there were contacts at the upper levels of the intelligence hierarchy, Islamic rebel leaders in theatre had no contacts with Washington or the CIA.
With CIA backing and the funneling of massive amounts of US military aid, the Pakistani ISI had developed into a "parallel structure wielding enormous power over all aspects of government". 8 The ISI had a staff composed of military and intelligence officers, bureaucrats, undercover agents and informers, estimated at 150,000. 9
Meanwhile, CIA operations had also reinforced the Pakistani military regime led by General Zia Ul Haq:
'Relations between the CIA and the ISI [Pakistan's military intelligence] had grown increasingly warm following [General] Zia's ouster of Bhutto and the advent of the military regime,'... During most of the Afghan war, Pakistan was more aggressively anti-Soviet than even the United States. Soon after the Soviet military invaded Afghanistan in 1980, Zia [ul Haq] sent his ISI chief to destabilize the Soviet Central Asian states. The CIA only agreed to this plan in October 1984.... `the CIA was more cautious than the Pakistanis.' Both Pakistan and the United States took the line of deception on Afghanistan with a public posture of negotiating a settlement while privately agreeing that military escalation was the best course.10
The Golden Crescent Drug Triangle The history of the drug trade in Central Asia is intimately related to the CIA's covert operations. Prior to the Soviet-Afghan war, opium production in Afghanistan and Pakistan was directed to small regional markets. There was no local production of heroin. 11 In this regard, Alfred McCoy's study confirms that within two years of the onslaught of the CIA operation in Afghanistan, "the Pakistan-Afghanistan borderlands became the world's top heroin producer, supplying 60 percent of U.S. demand. In Pakistan, the heroin-addict population went from near zero in 1979... to 1.2 million by 1985 -- a much steeper rise
than in any other nation":12
CIA assets again controlled this heroin trade. As the Mujahideen guerrillas seized territory inside Afghanistan, they ordered peasants to plant opium as a revolutionary tax. Across the border in Pakistan, Afghan leaders and local syndicates under the protection of Pakistan Intelligence operated hundreds of heroin laboratories. During this decade of wide-open drug-dealing, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency in Islamabad failed to instigate major seizures or arrests ... U.S. officials had refused to investigate charges of heroin dealing by its Afghan allies `because U.S. narcotics policy in Afghanistan has been subordinated to the war against Soviet influence there.' In 1995, the former CIA director of the Afghan operation, Charles Cogan, admitted the CIA had indeed sacrificed the drug war to fight the Cold War. `Our main mission was to do as much damage as possible to the Soviets. We didn't really have the resources or the time to devote to an investigation of the drug trade,'... `I don't think that we need to apologize for this. Every situation has its fallout.... There was fallout in terms of drugs, yes. But the main objective was accomplished. The Soviets left Afghanistan.'13
In the Wake of the Cold War In the wake of the Cold War, the Central Asian region is not only strategic for its extensive oil reserves, it also produces three quarters of the World's opium representing multibillion dollar revenues to business syndicates, financial institutions, intelligence agencies and organized crime. The annual proceeds of the Golden Crescent drug trade (between 100 and 200 billion dollars) represents approximately one third of the Worldwide annual turnover of narcotics, estimated by the United Nations to be of the order of $500 billion.14
With the disintegration of the Soviet Union, a new surge in opium production has unfolded. (According to UN estimates, the production of opium in Afghanistan in 1998-99 -- coinciding with the build up of armed insurgencies in the former Soviet republics-- reached a record high of 4600 metric tons.15 Powerful business syndicates in the former Soviet Union allied with organized crime are competing for the strategic control over the heroin routes.
The ISI's extensive intelligence military-network was not dismantled in the wake of the Cold War. The CIA continued to support the Islamic "jihad" out of Pakistan. New undercover initiatives were set in motion in Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Balkans. Pakistan's military and intelligence apparatus essentially "served as a catalyst for the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the emergence of six new Muslim republics in Central Asia." 16.
Meanwhile, Islamic missionaries of the Wahhabi sect from Saudi Arabia had established themselves in the Muslim republics as well as within the Russian federation encroaching upon the institutions of the secular State. Despite its anti-American ideology, Islamic fundamentalism was largely serving Washington's strategic interests in the former Soviet Union.
Following the withdrawal of Soviet troops in 1989, the civil war in Afghanistan continued unabated. The Taliban were being supported by the Pakistani Deobandis and their political party the Jamiat-ul-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI). In 1993, JUI entered the government coalition of Prime Minister Benazzir Bhutto. Ties between JUI, the Army and ISI were established. In 1995, with the downfall of the Hezb-I-Islami Hektmatyar government in Kabul, the Taliban not only instated a hardline Islamic government, they also "handed control of training camps in Afghanistan over to JUI factions..." 17
And the JUI with the support of the Saudi Wahhabi movements played a key role in recruiting volunteers to fight in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union.
Jane Defense Weekly confirms in this regard that "half of Taliban manpower and equipment originate[d] in Pakistan under the ISI" 18
In fact, it would appear that following the Soviet withdrawal both sides in the Afghan civil war continued to receive covert support through Pakistan's ISI. 19
In other words, backed by Pakistan's military intelligence (ISI) which in turn was controlled by the CIA, the Taliban Islamic State was largely serving American geopolitical interests. The Golden Crescent drug trade was also being used to finance and equip the Bosnian Muslim Army (starting in the early 1990s) and the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). In last few months there is evidence that Mujahideen mercenaries are fighting in the ranks of KLA-NLA terrorists in their assaults into Macedonia.
No doubt, this explains why Washington has closed its eyes on the reign of terror imposed by the Taliban including the blatant derogation of women's rights, the closing down of schools for girls, the dismissal of women employees from government offices and the
enforcement of "the Sharia laws of punishment".20
The War in Chechnya With regard to Chechnya, the main rebel leaders Shamil Basayev and Al Khattab were trained and indoctrinated in CIA sponsored camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan. According to Yossef Bodansky, director of the U.S. Congress's Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, the war in Chechnya had been planned during a secret summit of HizbAllah International held in 1996 in Mogadishu, Somalia. 21 The summit, was attended by Osama bin Laden and high-ranking Iranian and Pakistani intelligence officers. In this regard, the involvement of Pakistan's ISI in Chechnya "goes far beyond supplying the Chechens with weapons and expertise: the ISI and its radical Islamic proxies are actually calling the shots in this war". 22
Russia's main pipeline route transits through Chechnya and Dagestan. Despite Washington's perfunctory condemnation of Islamic terrorism, the indirect beneficiaries of the Chechen war are the Anglo-American oil conglomerates which are vying for control over oil resources and pipeline corridors out of the Caspian Sea basin.
The two main Chechen rebel armies (respectively led by Commander Shamil Basayev and Emir Khattab) estimated at 35,000 strong were supported by Pakistan's ISI, which also played a key role in organizing and training the Chechen rebel army:
[In 1994] the Pakistani Inter Services Intelligence arranged for Basayev and his trusted lieutenants to undergo intensive Islamic indoctrination and training in guerrilla warfare in the Khost province of Afghanistan at Amir Muawia camp, set up in the early 1980s by the CIA and ISI and run by famous Afghani warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. In July 1994, upon graduating from Amir Muawia, Basayev was transferred to Markaz-i-Dawar camp in Pakistan to undergo training in advanced guerrilla tactics. In Pakistan, Basayev met the highest ranking Pakistani military and intelligence officers: Minister of Defense General Aftab Shahban Mirani, Minister of Interior General Naserullah Babar, and the head of the ISI branch in charge of supporting Islamic causes, General Javed Ashraf, (all now retired). High-level connections soon proved very useful to Basayev.23
Following his training and indoctrination stint, Basayev was assigned to lead the assault against Russian federal troops in the first Chechen war in 1995. His organization had also developed extensive links to criminal syndicates in Moscow as well as ties to Albanian organized crime and the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). In 1997-98, according to Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) "Chechen warlords started buying up real estate in Kosovo... through several real estate firms registered as a cover in Yugoslavia" 24
Basayev's organisation has also been involved in a number of rackets including narcotics, illegal tapping and sabotage of Russia's oil pipelines, kidnapping, prostitution, trade in counterfeit dollars and the smuggling of nuclear materials (See Mafia linked to Albania's collapsed pyramids, 25 Alongside the extensive laundering of drug money, the proceeds of various illicit activities have been funneled towards the recruitment of mercenaries and the purchase of weapons.
During his training in Afghanistan, Shamil Basayev linked up with Saudi born veteran Mujahideen Commander "Al Khattab" who had fought as a volunteer in Afghanistan. Barely a few months after Basayev's return to Grozny, Khattab was invited (early 1995) to set up an army base in Chechnya for the training of Mujahideen fighters. According to the BBC, Khattab's posting to Chechnya had been "arranged through the Saudi-Arabian based [International] Islamic Relief Organisation, a militant religious organisation, funded by mosques and rich individuals which channeled funds into Chechnya".26
Concluding Remarks Since the Cold War era, Washington has consciously supported Ousmane bin Laden, while at same time placing him on the FBI's "most wanted list" as the World's foremost terrorist.
While the Mujahideen are busy fighting America's war in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union, the FBI --operating as a US based Police Force- is waging a domestic war against terrorism, operating in some respects independently of the CIA which has --since the Soviet-Afghan war-- supported international terrorism through its covert operations.
In a cruel irony, while the Islamic jihad --featured by the Bush Adminstration as "a threat to America"-- is blamed for the terrorist assaults on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, these same Islamic organisations constitute a key instrument of US military-intelligence operations in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union.
In the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, the truth must prevail to prevent the Bush Adminstration together with its NATO partners from embarking upon a
military adventure which threatens the future of humanity.

SOME HOME TRUTHS ABOUT THE WORLD TRADE CENTER DISASTER FROM AN AMERICAN WHO CAN SEE BEYOND THE VEIL
Dear friends,
I was supposed to fly today on the 4:30 PM American Airlines flight from LAX to JFK. But tonight I find myself stuck in L.A. with an incredible range of emotions over what has happened on the island where I work and live in New York City.
My wife and I spent the first hours of the day -- after being awakened by phone calls from our parents at 6:40am PT -- trying to contact our daughter at school in New York and our friend JoAnn who works near the World Trade Center.
I called JoAnn at her office. As someone picked up, the first tower imploded, and the person answering the phone screamed and ran out, leaving me no clue as to whether or not she or JoAnn would live.
It was a sick, horrible, frightening day.
On December 27, 1985 I found myself caught in the middle of a terrorist incident at the Vienna airport -- which left 30 people dead, both there and at the Rome airport. (The machine-gunning of passengers in each city was timed to occur at the same moment.)
I do not feel like discussing that event tonight because it still brings up too much despair and confusion as to how and why I got to live- a fluke, a mistake, a few feet on the tarmac, and I am still here, there but for the grace of---
Safe. Secure. I'm an American, living in America. I like my illusions. I walk through a metal detector, I put my carry-ons through an x-ray machine, and I know all will be well.
Here's a short list of my experiences lately with airport security:
* At the Newark Airport, the plane is late at boarding everyone. The counter can't find my seat. So I am told to just "go ahead and get on" -- without a ticket!
* At Detroit Metro Airport, I don't want to put the lunch I just bought at the deli through the x-ray machine so, as I pass through the metal detector, I hand the sack to the guard through the space between the detector and the x-ray machine. I tell him "It's just a sandwich." He believes me and doesn't bother to check. The sack has gone through neither security device.
* At LaGuardia in New York, I check a piece of luggage, but decide to catch a later plane. The first plane leaves without me, but with my bag -- no one knowing what is in it.
* Back in Detroit, I take my time getting off the commuter plane. By the time I have come
down its stairs, the bus that takes the passengers to the terminal has left -- without me. I am alone on the tarmac, free to wander wherever I want. So I do. Eventually, I flag down a pick-up truck and an airplane mechanic gives me a ride the rest of the way to the terminal.
* I have brought knives, razors; and once, my traveling companion brought a hammer and chisel. No one stopped us.
Of course, I have gotten away with all of this because the airlines consider my safety SO important, they pay rent-a-cops $5.75 an hour to make sure the bad guys don't get on my plane. That is what my life is worth -- less than the cost of an oil change.
Too harsh, you say? Well, chew on this: a first-year pilot on American Eagle (the commuter arm of American Airlines) receives around $15,000 a year in annual pay.
That's right -- $15,000 for the person who has your life in his hands. Until recently, Continental Express paid a little over $13,000 a year. There was one guy, an American Eagle pilot, who had four kids so he went down to the welfare office and applied for food stamps -- and he was eligible!
Someone on welfare is flying my plane? Is this for real? Yes, it is.
So spare me the talk about all the precautions the airlines and the FAA is taking. They, like all businesses, are concerned about one thing -- the bottom line and the profit margin.
Four teams of 3-5 people were all able to penetrate airport security on the same morning at 3 different airports and pull off this heinous act? My only response is -- that's all?
Well, the pundits are in full diarrhea mode, gushing on about the "terrorist threat" and today's scariest dude on planet earth -- Osama bin Laden. Hey, who knows, maybe he did it. But, something just doesn't add up.
Am I being asked to believe that this guy who sleeps in a tent in a desert has been training pilots to fly our most modern, sophisticated jumbo jets with such pinpoint accuracy that they are able to hit these three targets without anyone wondering why these planes were so far off path?
Or am I being asked to believe that there were four religious/political fanatics who JUST HAPPENED to be skilled airline pilots who JUST HAPPENED to want to kill themselves today?
Maybe you can find one jumbo jet pilot willing to die for the cause -- but FOUR? Ok, maybe you can -- I don't know.
What I do know is that all day long I have heard everything about this bin Laden guy except this one fact -- WE created the monster known as Osama bin Laden!
Where did he go to terrorist school? At the CIA!
Don't take my word for it -- I saw a piece on MSNBC last year that laid it all out. When the Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan, the CIA trained him and his buddies in how to commits acts of terrorism against the Soviet forces. It worked! The Soviets turned and ran. Bin Laden was grateful for what we taught him and thought it might be fun to use those same techniques against us.
We abhor terrorism -- unless we're the ones doing the terrorizing.
We paid and trained and armed a group of terrorists in Nicaragua in the 1980s who killed over 30,000 civilians. That was OUR work. You and me. Thirty thousand murdered civilians and who the hell even remembers!
We fund a lot of oppressive regimes that have killed a lot of innocent people, and we never let the human suffering THAT causes to interrupt our day one single bit.
We have orphaned so many children, tens of thousands around the world, with our taxpayer-funded terrorism (in Chile, in Vietnam, in Gaza, in Salvador) that I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised when those orphans grow up and are a little whacked in the head from the horror we have helped cause.
Yet, our recent domestic terrorism bombings have not been conducted by a guy from the desert but rather by our own citizens: a couple of ex-military guys who hated the federal government.
From the first minutes of today's events, I never heard that possibility suggested. Why is that?
Maybe it's because the A-rabs are much better foils. A key ingredient in getting Americans whipped into a frenzy against a new enemy is the all-important race card. It's much easier to get us to hate when the object of our hatred doesn't look like us.
Congressmen and Senators spent the day calling for more money for the military; one Senator on CNN even said he didn't want to hear any more talk about more money for education or health care -- we should have only one priority: our self-defense.
Will we ever get to the point that we realize we will be more secure when the rest of the world isn't living in poverty so we can have nice running shoes?
In just 8 months, Bush gets the whole world back to hating us again. He withdraws from the Kyoto agreement, walks us out of the Durban conference on racism, insists on restarting the arms race -- you name it, and Baby Bush has blown it all.
The Senators and Congressmen tonight broke out in a spontaneous version of "God Bless America." They're not a bad group of singers!
Yes, God, please do bless us.
Many families have been devastated tonight. This just is not right. They did not deserve to die. If someone did this to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who DID NOT VOTE for him! Boston, New York, DC, and the planes' destination of California -- these were places that voted AGAINST Bush!
Why kill them? Why kill anyone? Such insanity!
Let's mourn, let's grieve, and when it's appropriate let's examine our contribution to the unsafe world we live in. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- September 11, 2001 A MESSAGE FOR GEORGE W. Believe it George and co, believe it, because you have never spoken a truer word about yourselves. Despite the horrors that the force that controls your minds may have perpetrated this terrible week, that is indeed how this story will end, I assure you, and far sooner than you could possibly imagine --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Next Casualty: Bill of Rights?
Absolutely. That is the Goal of this entire henious affair.
Tuesday's onslaughts on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon are being likened to Pearl Harbor. The comparison is just. The attacks were near miracles of logistical calculation, timing, execution and devastation inflicted on the targets.
There may be another similarity. The possibility of a Japanese attack in early December 1941 was known to U.S. naval intelligence and to President Roosevelt. On Tuesday, derision at the failure of U.S. intelligence was widespread. The Washington Post quoted an unnamed top official at the National Security Council as saying, "We don't know anything here. We're watching CNN too." Are we to believe that the $30-billion annual intelligence budget, immense electronic eavesdropping capacity, thousands of agents around the world, produced nothing in the way of a warning?
In fact, the editor of the London-based Al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper, said he heard three weeks ago that Osama bin Laden, now the prime suspect, planned "very, very big attacks against American interests." The lust for retaliation traditionally outstrips precision in identifying the actual assailant. By early evening Tuesday, the U.S. national security establishment was calling for removal of all impediments on the assassination of foreign leaders. Led by President Bush, they were endorsing the prospect of attacks not just on the perpetrators but on those who might have harbored them. From the nuclear priesthood comes the demand that mini-nukes be deployed on a preemptive basis against the enemies of America.
The targets abroad will be all the usual suspects--the Taliban or Saddam Hussein, who started off as creatures of U.S. intelligence. The target at home will be the Bill of Rights.
Less than a week ago the FBI raided Infocom, the Texas-based Web host for Muslim groups such as the Council on Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America, the Islamic Assn. for Palestine and the Holy Land Foundation. Palestinians have been denied visas, and those in this country can, under the terms of the counterterrorism policy during the Clinton years, be held and expelled without due process.
Tuesday's explosions were not an hour old before terror pundits such as Anthony Cordesman, Wesley Clark, Robert Gates and Lawrence Eagleburger were saying that these attacks had been possible "because America is a democracy," adding that now some democratic perquisites might have to be abandoned. What might this mean? Increased domestic snooping by U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies? Ethnic profiling? A national ID card system?
Tuesday did not offer a flattering exhibition of America's leaders. President Bush gave a timid and stilted initial reaction in Sarasota, Fla., then disappeared for an hour before resurfacing in at a base in Barksdale, La., where he gave another flaccid address with every appearance of being on tranquilizers. He was then flown to a bunker in Nebraska, before someone finally had the wit to
suggest that the best place for the U.S. president at time of national emergency is the Oval Office.
One certain beneficiary of the attacks is Israel. Polls had been showing popular dislike here for Israel's recent tactics, which may have been the motivation for Colin Powell's few bleats of reproof to Israel. We will be hearing no such bleats in the weeks to come, as Israel's leaders advise the U.S. how exactly to deal with Muslims.
"Freedom," said Bush in Sarasota, "was attacked this morning by a faceless coward." That properly represents the stupidity and blindness of almost all of Tuesday's mainstream political commentary. By contrast, the commentary on economic consequences was informative and sophisticated. Worst hit: the insurance industry. Likely outfall in the short term: higher energy prices, a further drop in global stock markets. Bush will have no trouble in raiding the famous lock-box, using Social Security trust funds to give more money to the Defense Department.
Three planes are successfully steered into three of America's most conspicuous buildings and America's response will be to put more money in missile defense as a way of bolstering the economy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
White House Rejects Taliban
Request for Evidence
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - As the United States pushed ahead with war preparations, the White
House on Friday rejected requests rom Afghanistan (news - websites)'s ruling Taliban to show
proof Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) was responsible for the deadly Sept. 11 attacks.
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer (news - web sites) rejected a call by the Taliban
Islamic movement, which allows bin Laden to stay in Afghanistan as a ``guest,'' to provide evidence
of the Saudi-born militant's involvement in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York
and the Pentagon (news - websites) outside Washington.
``The president's message to the Taliban today is the same message that he gave last night; that there
will be no negotiations and no discussions,'' Fleischer said. ``He expects the Taliban tohonor the
demands that he made in his speech last night.''
In a hard-hitting address to a joint session of Congress on Thursday, President Bush (news - web sites)
blamed bin Laden and the al Qaeda network for the attacks that left more than 6,800 people dead or missing.
Bush issued an ultimatum to leaders of the Taliban to turn over bin Laden and his lieutenants or ``share in
their fate.''
Fleischer said Bush had put the Taliban ``on notice'' and was ''preparing to do what must inevitably come
next.''
Dozens of White House staffers cheered and waved American flags on the South Lawn as Bush and his wife
Laura departed for the Camp David presidential retreat aboard a Marine One helicopter.
NO 'LOOSE LIPS'
Bush will lead a meeting of his National Security Council by teleconference from the retreat in the
Catoctin Mountains in Maryland on Saturday. The following day, he will take part in a ceremony raising
the American flag to full staff for the first time since Sept. 11.
Fleischer refused to give any details of the proof the government had regarding bin Laden and his
lieutenants, saying ''to reveal that would be to provide information to the al Qaeda organization, to Osama bin
Laden, to any other enemies of this country that they would love to have. And I will not do that.''
``I think, frankly, the American people take encouragement from the fact that this government will
not have loose lips.''
A day after his nationally televised address Bush pushed forward with war preparations, meeting with his
national security advisers.
``The president has made it abundantly clear that this nation is preparing for war, because war has been
declared against the United States,'' Fleischer said.
``Suffice it to say, the reason the president met with his National Security Council this
morning, that he will do so again tomorrow, is because the planning is active and under way,'' he
added.
A large U.S. military deployment was gathering in the region.
Bush spent part of Friday working on other complications triggered by the attacks.
He met insurance executives about the problems arising from the deaths aboard hijacked airplanes and on the
ground. He also attended a ``domestic consequences'' meeting, which focused on a $15 billion bailout for the
airline industry.
DOZENS OF CALLS
Fleischer said Bush, who has already made dozens of calls over the past 10 days to world
leaders to seek their
support, pushed ahead with that effort on Friday morning, speaking to Turkish President Ahmet Necdet
Sezer, Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and Oman's Sultan Qaboos.
He then held a 20-minute meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan in his attempt to build a global
coalition against terrorism.
``The president reiterated his determination to fight terrorism and said he looked
forward to his trip in October,'' NSC spokesman Sean McCormack said. U.S.
plans were going ahead for Bush's scheduled visit to China, South Korea (news -
web sites) and Japan next month.
After a meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) on Thursday
Tang said China was ready to enhance cooperation with the United States.
But several Chinese officials have warned that when actions are taken against
international ``terrorists'' they should be based on solid evidence and care should
be taken to reduce collateral damage and loss of civilian life.
Bush has called for international support as he vowed to use every resource to
disrupt and defeat the ``global terror network.''
``Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with
us or you are with the terrorists,'' he said on Thursday night.

Monday and Japan's Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi will visit on Tuesday.
So, if there truly are "Terrorist's" that are responsible for this horrible deed,
why won't Bush supply the evidence to support such a claim? The answer is
simple - said evidence leads DIRECTLY back to the White House, that is why!

The man who designed the WTC was interviewed on a news broadcast.
He was clearly puzzled that the buildings collapsed. He said that
steel encased in concrete would take about three hours to reach a
dangerously high temperature, yet the buildings collapsed within
an hour and a half.
Also, what happened to the sprinkler system? Anyone who has poured
water on a camp fire knows that great clouds of steam are produced.
I did not see any steam whatsoever emanating from the WTC fire.
Just thick black smoke. Is it possible the sprinklers were disabled,
or the reservoirs were drained prior to the attack?

U.S. Army 'Psyops' Specialists worked for CNN

WASHINGTON, ATLANTA - For a short time last year, CNN
employed military specialists in 'psychological operations' (psyops).
This was confirmed to by a spokesman of the U.S. Army. The
military has influenced CNN's news reports about the crisis in
Kosovo.
"Psyops personnel, soldiers and officers, have been working in
CNN's headquarters in Atlanta through our program 'Training With
Industry,'" said Major Thomas Collins of the U.S. Army Information
Service in a telephone interview last Friday. "They worked as
regular employees of CNN. Conceivably, they would have worked on
stories during the Kosovo war. They helped in the production of
news.''
These military, a "handful" according to Collins, stayed with CNN
for at least a couple of weeks "to get to know the company and to
broaden their horizons''. Collins maintains that "they didn't work
under the control of the army." The temporary outplacement of U.S.
Army psyops personnel in various sectors of society began a couple
of years ago. Contract periods vary from a couple of weeks to one
year.
CNN is the biggest and most widely viewed news station in the world.
The intimate liaisons with army psyops specialists raise serious
doubts about CNN's journalistic integrity and independence. The
military CNN-personnel belonged to the airmobile Fourth
Psychological Operations Group, stationed at Fort Bragg, North
Carolina. One of the main tasks of this group of almost 1200 soldiers
and officers is to spread 'selected information'.
American psyops troops try with a variety of techniques to influence
media and public opinion in armed conflicts in which American state
interests are said to be at stake. The propaganda group was involved
in the Gulf war, the Bosnian war and the crisis in Kosovo.
So far CNN has not commented on the allegations. "I don't believe
that we would employ military personnel; it doesn't seem like
something we would normally do," said CNN-spokeswoman Megan
Mahoney on Friday evening. But when the U.S. Army Information
Service confirmed the news, Mahoney said she would have to
contact CNN's senior officials. However, on Sunday evening CNN
still could not provide an official statement to Trouw.
CNN's coverage of the war in Kosovo, and that of other media, has
attracted criticism from several sides as having been one-sided,
overly emotional, over-simplified and relying too heavily on NATO
officials. On the other hand, journalists have complained about the
lack of reliable information from NATO; for almost all of them it was
impossible to be on the battlefield and file first-hand reports.

Israeli security issued urgent warning to CIA of large-scale
Terror Attacks

ISRAELI intelligence officials say that they warned their
counterparts in the United States last month that
large-scale terrorist attacks on highly visible targets on
the American mainland were imminent.
The attacks on the World Trade Centre's twin towers
and the Pentagon were humiliating blows to the
intelligence services, which failed to foresee them, and
to the defence forces of the most powerful nation in the
world, which failed to deflect them.
The Telegraph has learnt that two senior experts with
Mossad, the Israeli military intelligence service, were
sent to Washington in August to alert the CIA and FBI
to the existence of a cell of as many of 200 terrorists
said to be preparing a big operation.
"They had no specific information about what was
being planned but linked the plot to Osama bin Laden
and told the Americans that there were strong grounds
for suspecting Iraqi involvement," said a senior Israeli
security official.
The CIA has said that it had no hard information that
would have led to the prevention of the hijacking, but
the FBI said it believed that cells operating within
America and totalling at least 50 terrorists were behind
last week's devastating hijacks; the names of new
suspects are being added to the list daily.
America's intelligence agencies are being widely blamed
for their failure to predict the attacks, or anything like
them, and for not discovering any of the terrorist cells
before the hijackings on Tuesday. Some of those who
took part had lived in the US for months, or even
years.
Evidence that a clear Israeli warning was delivered to
American authorities, but ignored, would be a further
blow to the reputation of the CIA, which is under fire
for its failure last week.
An administration official in Washington said: "If this is
true then the refusal to take it seriously will mean heads
will roll. It is quite credible that the CIA might not heed
a Mossad warning: it has a history of being
overcautious about Israeli information."
For years, staff at the Pentagon joked that they worked
at "Ground Zero", the spot at which an incoming
nuclear missile aimed at America's defences would
explode. There is even a snack bar of that name in the
central courtyard of the five-sided building, America's
most obvious military bullseye.
This weekend, five days after that target was struck
with devastating effect by a hijacked plane, the joking
has stopped.
It is far from certain that any military commander would
have had the courage to recommend shooting down a
passenger airliner, even in the unprecedented
circumstances of last Tuesday.
For three of the four airliners hijacked last week,
however, the question did not even arise. Two pairs of
combat fighters were scrambled into action but did not
get near enough to shoot any of them down.
Norad, the command headquarters in Colorado
responsible for defending all of North America from air
attack, was notified of the first hijack at 8.38am and six
minutes later two F-15 fighter jets were ordered into
the air from Otis airforce base on Cape Cod.
Before they could take off, however, the first hijacked
airliner crashed into the World Trade Centre's north
tower at 8.46am. Six minutes later the two military jets
were airborne, but when the second hijacked airliner hit
the south tower shortly after 9am they were still 70
miles from Manhattan.
The only successful action against the hijackers was
taken by passengers of the fourth airliner, whose heroic
decision to fight back led to its crashing into the fields
of Pennsylvania.
The reason lies in the strict distinction America draws
between civil and military power, combined with the
fact that until last week nobody had confronted the
possibility that a terrorist hijacker might turn kamikaze
pilot.
Although Norad has its own radar system to track
aircraft over the US, its prime task is to watch for
hostile aircraft approaching America from outside. "We
assume anything originating in US airspace is friendly,"
said a spokesman.
For the same reason, the 20 or so American fighter
planes on permanent full alert in case of a suspect
intruder, were deployed at half a dozen bases in the
likeliest flightpaths of an attack from the former Soviet
Union, several hundred miles from New York or
Washington DC.
All aircraft flying over American airspace are monitored
and controlled by a network of 20 regional Federal
Aviation Authority air traffic control centres, backed up
by individual airport control towers. Military aircraft
under Norad control can intervene with domestic traffic
only if called on for help by their civilian colleagues.
That is what happened on Tuesday, but in no case was
there apparently enough time after the FAA's warning
for fighter planes to reach the hijacked airliners.
More puzzling, there were 45 minutes between air
traffic controllers losing contact with the third airliner,
which took off from Dulles airport just outside
Washington, and its crash on to the Pentagon.
At that point, however, the aircraft was still flying on its
intended course westwards. It may not have been until
later, possibly after a passenger's mobile phone call to
the Justice Department, that the civil authorities finally
twigged what was happening.
It was not the military but civilian air traffic controllers
at Washington's Reagan National Airport - tipped off
by their colleagues at Dulles - who alerted the White
House to the fact that an unauthorised jet was flying at
full throttle towards it.
As shaken White House staff began a frantic
evacuation, the aircraft banked, performed a 270
degree turn and sailed past lines of aghast drivers on
expressways to crash explosively into the west side of
the Pentagon.
If the airliner had approached much nearer to the White
House it might have been shot down by the Secret
Service, who are believed to have a battery of
ground-to-air Stinger missiles ready to defend the
president's home.
The Pentagon is not similarly defended. "We are an
open society," said a military official. "We don't have
soldiers positioned on the White House lawn and we
don't have the Pentagon ringed with bunkers and
tanks."
It emerged last night that two F-16 fighters took off
from Langley airforce base in Virginia just two minutes
before the American Airlines Boeing 767 crashed into
the Pentagon, again too late to have a chance of
intercepting.
Only the fourth hijacked airliner, which was less than
30 minutes from Washington when it crashed, might
have been successfully intercepted: air traffic controllers
at a regional centre in Nashua, New Hampshire, told a
Boston newspaper that at least one F-16 fighter was in
hot pursuit, and defence officials confirmed that the
fighters already launched from Langley were on their
way to intercept the flight when passengers apparently
took matters into their own hands.
Deep inside the Pentagon, in the hardened bunkers of
the National Military Joint Intelligence Centre, senior
officials were said to be "stunned" by the terrorists'
achievement.
Within minutes of the attack American forces around
the world were put on one of their highest states of alert
- Defcon 3, just two notches short of all-out war - and
F-16s from Andrews Air Force Base were in the air
over Washington DC.
A flotilla of warships was deployed along the east coast
from bases in Virginia and Florida, with two
aircraft-carriers to help protect the airspace around
New York and Washington DC. Off the west coast, a
further 10 ships put to sea to take up station close to
the shore.
Extra Awacs aerial reconnaissance aircraft were sent
aloft to ensure that nothing other than military aircraft
flew in American airspace - a home-grown version of
the "no-fly zones" enforced for many years over Iraq.
For much of the rest of the week, the unsettling roar of
F-15 and F-16 fighters patrolling the skies high above
America's biggest cities replaced the usual rumble of
commercial airliners.
On Friday, in a tacit admission that America must in
future be better prepared, Donald Rumsfeld, the
Defence Secretary, announced that fighters were being
put on a 15-minute "strip" alert at 26 bases nationwide.
There was anger among politicians at what many saw
as the failure of the intelligence services, and some
officials on Capitol Hill began canvassing support for a
move to force George Tenet, the director of the Central
Intelligence Agency, originally appointed by Clinton, to
step aside.
James Traficant, a Democratic congressman from
Pennsylvania, said that for years Congress had poured
billions of dollars of largely unscrutinised funding into
America's intelligence services, "yet we learnt of every
one of these tragedies from Fox News and CNN"- two
television channels. Senator Richard Shelby, a
Republican member of the Senate intelligence
committee, said it was "a failure of great dimension".
There are moves to address one severe shortcoming
noted by many critics: the CIA's reliance on
technological rather than "human" means to gather
information, and its weakness as a means of finding out
what Osama bin Laden is up to.
During the Clinton administration, Congress banned the
CIA from recruiting as a paid informer anyone with a
criminal record or who was guilty of human rights
violations. James Woolsey, another former CIA
director, said: "Inside bin Laden's organisation there are
only people who want to be human rights violators. If
you don't recruit them then you don't recruit anyone."

NEWS EMBARGO AFTER ISRAELI LINK LEAK
Stern-Intel (Canada). A US military intelligence source revealed details
of an internal intelligence memo that points to the Israeli Mossad
intelligence service having links to the World Trade Center and Pentagon
attacks.
The intelligence source, who requested his name be withheld, confirmed
the internal US intelligence memo circulated four weeks ago described
information that pointed to the threat of a covert Israeli operation on
US soil to turn mass public opinion against Palestinian Arabs via an
apparent terrorist attack on US interests that would give Israel the
green light to implement a large scale military onslaught against the
Palestinian Arab population.
The 11 September attack has been described by experts as being too
sophisticated for a lone terrorist group to execute. This attack required
a high level of military precision and the resources of an advanced
intelligence agency. In addition, the attackers would have needed to be
extremely familiar with both Air Force One flight operations, civil
airline flight paths and aerial assault tactics on sensitive US cities
like Washington, Stated David Stern an expert on Israeli intelligence
operations. The attacks targeted the Pentagon, World Trade Center towers,
with the White House and Air Force One also being targets according to
the FBI.
The attacks have certainly turned US public opinion firmly back in
Israel's favor after 11 months of Palestinian uprising, heavy criticism
of Israel over war crimes allegations and racism by a UN conference in
Durban.
The attacks serve no Arab group or nation's interests but their timing
came in the midst of international condemnation of Israel for its policy
of death squad assassination of Palestinian political and police figures
added Stern.
If verified, the news of Israel's involvement in the US attack will come
as no surprise to intelligence experts. The state of Israel has a long
history of covert operations against Western targets with attacks on the
King David Hotel, USS Liberty, murder of a Scandinavian UN envoy as well
as espionage against the US during the Jonathan Pollard case. [As well as
selling US secrets and technology to communist China.]
On Wednesday the US defense department issued a warning to its officials
to halt the leak of information on the investigation which it says is
happening on a daily basis since the attacks occurred.

California bill redefines marriage
Opponents say Democrats used cover of tragedy to advance measure
THEY SNUCK ONE THROUGH IN CALIFORNIA
Under cover of a series of terrorist attacks in New York City and at the
Pentagon, California lawmakers have passed a bill that will redefine
traditional marriage in the state and convey new marriage rights on
homosexual couples, says a conservative women's group.
"You'd think they would have had the decency to wait a few days before
launching this reckless assault on society's premiere institution," said
Robert Knight, director of Concerned Women for America's Culture and Family
Institute. "On one coast, terrorists are committing acts of war against
American citizens. On the other coast, California politicians are overturning
5,000 years of Judeo-Christian tradition and openly sponsoring sinful
behavior."
Knight said that the California Assembly, on a vote of 42-29 last Wednesday,
passed AB 25 – a measure that conveys 13 new rights and benefits on
homosexual "domestic partners." The bill now goes to Gov. Gray Davis, who has
indicated in the past that he would like to sign such a measure, though he
has yet to commit to this one, the group said.
Last year, Californians approved Proposition 22, the "Defense of Marriage"
initiative, which was aimed at preserving the institution of marriage as one
between a man and a woman.
"AB 25 is a direct attempt to overturn a decisive vote by Californians to
protect marriage," Knight said. "If Gov. Davis has any respect for the people
he represents, for our system of government, and for marriage, he must veto
AB 25."
The last major revisions of the bill occurred Sept. 7, according to the
California Assembly's website. The bill was introduced by Assemblymembers
Carole Migden and Robert M. Hertzberg, both Democrats, in the Assembly, and
Sen. Sheila Kuehl, D-Los Angeles, in the state Senate.

Rumsfeld Warns Against US 'Police State'

(CNSNews.com) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Sunday the United
States has no choice but to use every thing at its command to pursue
terrorists and their networks around the world and the countries that are
harboring them in the wake of last week's attacks against New York City and
Washington, D.C.
But at the same time, Rumsfeld said America should not become a police state
in the war against terrorism.
"The way to deal with this problem is not to suddenly become a police state
and say we are not going to be free and we are not going to go about our
lives. We are going to go after the people who are posing this very serious
danger and that's what we need to do," Rumsfeld said.
Rumsfeld also doesn't think it is necessary at this time to re-institute the
military draft because the armed forces have enough personnel along with its
reservists to satisfy needs at this time in the war against terrorism.
Some 35,000 military reservists have been called into action so far.
"Either the United States acquiesces to the terrorists and becomes
isolationist, turns inward, or gives up our freedom," said Rumsfeld. "If we
decide we can't do anything about this problem, then we have no choice but to
give up that freedom. And we can't do that."
Rumsfeld made his remarks during an interview on the Fox News Sunday program.
The defense secretary reiterated the remarks of President Bush, who told the
nation in his weekly radio address Saturday that Americans should expect a
war that will not be short.
"We need to wage a long, broad sustained effort. This is something that
involves not week or days but years," said Rumsfeld. "We've just seen a
battle. A terrorist can attack at any time at anyplace using any technique."
Rumsfeld also noted that some of the countries believed to be harboring or
assisting in terrorist attacks "do, in fact, have chemical and biological
weapons," and some in congress have already raised the specter of additional
attacks on the U.S. that may incorporate such weapons.
In the days leading up to terrorist attacks on America, unknown investors
made unusually large bets in the financial markets against the stocks of
two companies that would come to be prominently associated with the
disaster: United Airlines and American Airlines.
That trading in United and other securities is the focus of investigations
in several countries, including the United States and Germany, sources
say. Investigators are looking into theories that someone with advance
knowledge of the attacks, possibly even financiers of the terrorists
themselves, sought to profit from the financial fallout.
Using what is known in the options trading industry as a "put," investors
bet heavily against United's parent, UAL Corp., on Sept. 6 and 7, and
against American's parent, AMR Corp., on Sept. 10, in the three trading
days before the attack. Put options are essentially market methods for
profiting when an investor believes the price of a security will drop.
No similar bets were made against the stocks of any of the companies' major
competitors, including Delta, Continental, Northwest and Southwest. That
would suggest that the investors had specific reason to believe UAL and AMR
shares would drop.
In addition, the trading ratio in UAL put options on the Thursday before
the attack was 25 times its normal level, according to data from the
Options Clearinghouse Corp.
On Sept. 11, hijackers seized one American flight and one United flight
and used them to demolish the World Trade Center's twin towers. A second
American plane crashed into the Pentagon, while another United flight
crashed in rural Pennsylvania after an apparent struggle between the
hijackers and passengers.

'HEARD THOSE REPORTS' "
We've heard those reports about terrorist involvement in our markets," said Harvey Pitt,
chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as quoted in the Wall Street
Journal. "Our enforcement division has been looking into a variety of
market actions that could be linked to these terrible acts, including the
subjects of the rumors."
SEC officials acknowledged the existence of the inquiry into put options
but declined to elaborate about Pitt's comment or to discuss specific areas
of inquiry. But a source familiar with the inquiry, who spoke only on
condition of anonymity, confirmed that trading of UAL issues and those of
other companies was under investigation by both market monitors and
government regulators.
The identities of the investors being investigated are not known to the
public, but their trades can be traced easily by investigators.
The evidence at this point is purely circumstantial. There are a number of
reasons that the bets against UAL and AMR could have been legitimate or
perhaps the product of insider trading with no connection to the terrorist
plot.
However, officials have launched a multinational investigation into the
unusual trading of a number of securities in the days leading up to the
attacks. What also has drawn attention was the short-selling of the stock
of Munich Re, a German insurance company whose shares took a sharp and
unexplainable tumble in the week before the attack. A short sale is when
an investor borrows stock from a broker and sells it in the hope of
repurchasing it at a lower price and profiting on the difference.
There also was an increase in the number of put options on the Standard &
Poor's 500 index, a broad measure of the market.
A put contract is the purchase of an option at a price lower than the level
at which the security is currently trading; if the security drops to that
level, the investor profits on the fall.
UNUSUALLY HIGH VOLUME Financial industry workers said they had noticed an
unusual volume of put contracts in the days before the attack but thought
they were seeing the natural result of a months-long deterioration in the
market. Now, in light of the attacks, darker scenarios are being discussed.
"I saw put-call numbers higher than I've ever seen in 10 years of following
the markets, particularly the options markets," said John Kinnucan, a
principal of Broadband Research, an independent telecommunications research
firm. "When one sees this type of activity, the first thing one does is
ask oneself, 'What is the explanation? What are people worried about?' "
One explanation might be that the nation was already in the midst of an
economic slowdown that was hurting the airline industry as travel demand
slackened. In addition, AMR and UAL posted huge losses after the second
quarter this summer and warned that their losses could continue through the
end of the year; UAL's stock price hit a 52-week low of $30.39 Sept. 10,
the day before the attack.
But anyone betting against either airline would have profited handsomely in
the days since. The attacks have hit the airline industry hard, and
fleeing investors wiped out $12.2 billion in shareholder value in airlines
yesterday alone. Meanwhile, a number of airlines have announced massive
layoffs in an attempt to stay afloat.
Among the hardest-hit stocks were UAL, which fell $13.32, or 43 percent, to
close at $17.50, and AMR, which fell $11.70, or 39 percent, to close at $18.
A spokeswoman for United Airlines said she did not have enough information
to comment about the inquiry, and a spokeswoman at American said she had
been told not to take calls seeking information on the matter.
The purchase of UAL put contracts on the Thursday before the attack was
about 25 times normal levels so far this year, and on Friday it was about
eight times normal.
Investors this year have on average bought fewer than 200 put contracts per
day on UAL stock.
By contrast, on Sept. 6 investors bought 3,150 contracts, followed by
2,194 purchases the next day.
On the Thursday that 3,150 put contracts were purchased, the Pacific
Exchange in San Francisco saw volume three times its normal levels, to
1,500 contracts. The following day saw an increase in trading volume at
the Chicago Board of Options Exchange in UAL options.
The purchase of AMR puts on the day before the attacks was about 10 times
the normal level so far this year, with 4,556 put contracts
purchased. That was nearly double the normal volume going through the
Philadelphia exchange. A spokeswoman for the Philadelphia exchange said
the market monitors there detected nothing unusual about the trading.
Using the U.S. financial system to underwrite attacks on it would be in
keeping with at least one previous boast during an altercation between the
United States and a Middle Eastern country.
During the 1991 Gulf War, Saddam Hussein said Iraq would kill American
soldiers "with their own bullets" after the United States supplied Iraq
with weapons and training in the belief that Iraq would be a Middle East ally.

Expert: Russia Knew in Advance, Encouraged Citizens
to Cash Out Dollars

Russian press accounts and other activities by the Russian
government this summer indicate that the Russian knew in advance
that something would happen to America, including a "financial
attack" against the U.S.
During the past three months, Russian media and officials have
encouraged citizens to cash out of U.S. dollars pending an
economic collapse there after an "attack."
Currently, the dominant view of the media is that the terrorist
actions in New York City and Washington were just a "thunder bolt
from the blue sky."
Could it be? Yes, a well organized group accomplished these
dastardly acts. But just how well organized was it?
Obviously, President Bush and Vice-President Cheney are
targeting the powers behind these terrorist groups, the states that
give them safe harbor and backing.
Sponsors of state terrorism include Iran, Iraq, Libya, Cuba, North
Korea, Sudan, and Syria.
Did you know that all of these countries have very close ties with
Russia and her military/intelligence agencies?
Could it be that the Russians actually expected this in advance and
even counted on it, discussing the possible consequences?
My suspicions were raised this July and August as I scanned and
sifted through all of Russia's major newspapers.
Considering Russia's close ties to these terrorist countries,
Russian activities need close scrutiny.
Pravda Wrote of Financial 'Attack' on U.S.
Consider the July 12, 2001 page-one report in Pravda - still
considered the establishment voice of Russia's old guard
communists who control the military and intelligence agencies.
The Pravda article was entitled "The Dollar and America Will Fall
Down on August 19? - That's the Opinion of Dr. Tatyana Koryagina,
Who Very [accurately] predicted the August Default in 1998."
This article struck me for several reasons. Major newspapers so
closely aligned with the government do not attempt to create panic
or fear in the public -- unless the government wants this information
to be publicly aired.
Also, a major newspaper would be reluctant to print a major
prediction for which it could be held accountable.
This Pravda article was published about the same time as another
strange event that took place in early July in the Russian State
Duma.
The Duma held a conference entitled "On the measures to provide
the development of Russian economy in the environment of
destabilization of the world financial system."
The chairman of the Duma Commission on Economic Politics, Dr.
Sergei Glazyev, headed the hearings.
Some prominent foreigners, including Lyndon Larouche from the
U.S. and Malaysian Ambassador in Russia, Yacha Baba, were
among the participants.
Tatyana Koryagina made a statement at the end of hearings - as a
Russian expert in the shadow economy, shadow politics and
conspirology.
She is a senior research fellow in the Institute of Macroeconomic
Researches subordinated to Russian Ministry of Economic
Development (Minekonom). The main theme of the Duma hearings
was the rapidly approaching economic crash of the U.S.
The hearings focused on preparing recommendations for
President Putin as to what Russia should to do to soften the
consequences of this coming catastrophe.
Pravda also detailed its own interview with Dr. Koryagina.
Here is an excerpt:
Question. All the participants at the hearings stated that
America is a huge financial pyramid, which will crash soon.
Still, it is hard to understand how this could happen in the
first and richest country of the world - without a war, without
missile or bomb strikes?
Koryagina: Besides bombs and missiles, there are other
kinds of weaponry, much more destructive ones. . . .
Question: Well, economic theory. But how it is possible for
you to give an exact date (for the U.S. crash) - August 19?
Koryagina: The U.S. is engaged in a mortal economic game.
The known history of civilization is merely the visible part of
the iceberg. There is a shadow economy, shadow politics
and also a shadow history, known to conspirologists. There
are (unseen) forces acting in the world, unstoppable for
(most powerful) countries and even continents.
Question: Just these forces intend to smash America on
August 19?
Koryagina: 'There are international, "super-state" and
"super-government" groups. In accordance with tradition,
the mystical and religious components play extremely
important roles in human history' One must take into
account the shadow economy, shadow politics and the
religious component, while predicting the development of
the present financial situation. Question. Still I don't
understand what could be done to this giant country [i.e., the
U.S.], whose budget is calculated in the trillions of dollars.
Koryagina: It is possible to do anything to the U.S. . . .whose
total debt has reached $26 trillion. Generally, the Western
economy is at the boiling point now. Shadow financial
actives of $300 trillion are hanging over the planet. At any
moment, they could fall on any stock exchange and cause
panic and crash. The recent crisis in Southeast Asia, which
touched Russia, was a rehearsal.
Question: . . .What is the sense of smashing just America?
Koryagina: The U.S. has been chosen as the object of
financial attack because the financial center of the planet is
located there. The effect will be maximal. The strike waves of
economic crisis will spread over the planet instantly, and will
remind us of the blast of a huge nuclear bomb.
Question: Did Russia's crisis of 1998 have this
religious-mystical component?
Koryagina: . . .The Russian crisis of 1998 was
preconditioned by internal factors. Yeltsin's policy enlarged
its consequences. Now we have President Putin, and this is
a good choice.
Question: What do we have to do now?
Koryagina: Recommendations, compiled by the Duma
Commission of Economic Politics after the recent Duma
hearings, offer instruction on what should be done to
escape the consequences of a world crisis inspired by a
financial catastrophe in the U.S. This document will be sent -
or has already been sent - to President Putin.
Question: What should Russian citizens do?
Koryagina: They should start changing their dollars for
rubles. President Putin and the Russian Central Bank are
already taking the necessary healthy measures. There are
high chances that after 19 August the ruble will become a
very good currency.
Question: Why 19 August and, say, not the 21st?
Koryagina: Some fluctuation in this date is possible. Serious
forces are acting against THOSE WHO ARE NOW
PREPARING THE ATTACK ON THE UNITED STATES.
August, with very high probability, will bring the financial
catastrophe to the U.S. . . .The last 10 days of August have
especial importance from a religious-sensible point of view.
It is important to note this story was not an isolated one, or a cute,
human interest story as one may find occasionally on the cover of
the Wall Street Journal.
It was a serious news report, and story, discussed widely in Russia,
including on national TV programs. The thrust of the story was that
Russian officials were strongly encouraging its citizens to cash out
of the U.S. dollar.
It is also important to understand that Dr. Koryagina is one of the
leading economists in a Russian social group which, from the very
beginning, has fiercely opposed "radical economic reform" in
Russia. She is a firm supporter of President Putin.
She and her network actively support Putin, especially his foreign
policy aimed at the diminishing America's global role.
In particular, they support Putin's policy of engagement of Iran, Iraq
and other nations of concern. Dr. Koryagina herself should be
considered as an insightful, well-connected and well-informed
person.
Dr. Koryagina says much about the invisible and unstoppable
"international mystical-religious forces" preparing an attack on the
U.S.
It looks like she knows the real nature of these forces and tries to
disguise them in a "conspiratorial fog."
She is sure that such an attack or strike of some kind - sudden and
effective enough - will really take place, and will cause panic and an
ensuing crash of the U.S. financial system and the world financial
system, already unstable. However, Dr. Koryagina evidently does
not know the exact mechanism of the attack.
Duma Warned Citizens to Cash out Dollars
The hearings in the Duma, which has become a rubber stump for
President Putin, have been inspired without doubt by the Kremlin,
"taking the necessary healthy measures" in advance of a U.S.
crash and world crisis.
The Kremlin clearly is thinking how it should operate in the "new
world" after the expected U.S. crash.
It is my belief that the Kremlin provided Dr. Koryagina with a very
small part of its information on the forthcoming attack against the
U.S.
Another article on this same theme was published by Pravda on
July 17, 2001.
It was an interview with the Chairman of the Duma Commission on
Economic Politics Dr. Sergei Glazyev--indeed, one of the most
prominent Russian economists.
The article was entitled "The Dollar and the U.S. Could Fall at Any
Moment."
Dr. Glazyev, in his answers, did not mention the forces preparing
an attack on the U.S. and its financial system.
He merely discussed the forms and scales of the forthcoming
financial catastrophe in the U.S. and its consequences for Russia -
mostly, beneficial ones if the necessary measures are taken in
advance.
In particular, like Dr. Koryagina, Dr. Glazyev advised the Russian
public to change dollars for rubles and predicted that "the ruble will
become the reserve currency for Eurasia, particularly in trade with
China and India."
Third Article, More Media
Pravda published a third article on this theme on 31 July - 1 August
2001. This article was called "The Dollar and the U.S. Will Fall" and
compiled in the form of an interview with the Malaysian
Ambassador in Russia.
Other Moscow newspapers published articles of this kind also.
As a result, New York's Russian-language TV channel in early
August was forced to state that "the Moscow rumors are
ungrounded." Within a few days the public forgot all about this
story.
The tone of Moscow economists predicting the crash of the U.S.
financial-economic system is confident and somewhat delightful:
"Finally, it is going to happen!"
They are not only discussing the future, they are evidently trying to
issue a self-fulfilling prophecy transforming this future into the
present. This is because the prospects described in the above
articles are extremely attractive for the Russian elite for the
following reasons:
a) It will become possible to pay off Russia's huge foreign debts
with devalued dollars; it would be really easy enough if oil prices
jumped to $100 per barrel or more.
b) Russia would become really equal among a weakened G-8
group of nations.
c) Investment conditions in Russia would become really attractive -
in comparison to the bleak global background. Russia could
become the goal of huge foreign investment.
d) If the U.S. military might is undermined (and it might be, if the
financial system collapses), Russia will regain its control over the
former Soviet republics, spread it to the Balkans and will reacquire
its former super-empire status.
Such a prize, such a temptation for the criminal Russian "elite"!
One small push, and such great booty! While reading these
articles, it is almost possible to visualize how they are licking their
lips with excitement.
So, those in Moscow had very serious reasons not to share
information with the U.S. about the coming attack on the latter - if
they indeed had such information.
Very likely, they did, and the maximum amount of information was
concentrated in the Kremlin. According to numerous statements
published by prominent U.S. economists after the tragedy, the time
and places of the attacks were chosen--more precisely, pretty well
calculated, as if the terrorists or those backing them had tried to do
their best to undermine the U.S. financial system and political
system and to cause a financial-economic crisis in the U.S.
There is some evidence that one jet, a TWA plane at JFK Airport,
did not take off and perhaps another crash was thwarted. Was it
intended for the New York Stock Exchange?
"It wasn't a healthy economy to begin with, and this could be just
enough to push us into a mild recession and render a blow to
consumer confidence," one of these economists told the UPI.
He continued: "There has been a complete disruption of passenger
flights. Besides the airline industry, tourism, retail and the shipping
sectors will feel the negative effects of Tuesday's attack. Tougher
security measures now in place at the nation's airports will increase
shipping and travel expenses that will be passed along to the
consumer."
And the consumer confidence index, low already, declined
additionally.
However, those in Moscow very probably waited for much greater
effects.
Remarkably, immediately after the events in New York and
Washington -- at approximately 6 P.M. Moscow time -- the dollar
exchange rate in Moscow street exchanges fell from 29 rubles to
15-20 rubles--as if the Moscow financial experts had awaited the
strikes or expected greater panic and collapse.
It is important to note that such a great fluctuation in the exchange
rate happened in no other world capital. The next day, the dollar in
Moscow gradually returned to its previous exchange rate.
A network of terrorists groups -- mostly in the U.S. and Middle East
-- were merely the fingers implementing the terrorist strikes.
After all, Arab terrorists groups are supported by rogue nations
--Libya, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Sudan.
These countries are "hands."
U.S. Needs to Look at Source
Now, if the U.S. and NATO forces carry out retaliatory strikes on
Afghanistan, the "hands" will be punished.
And where is the body, the heart of the beast?
And who provides the advanced military technology--including that
needed for "special actions"--to these nations of concern? Who
supports them in the UN? After all, who demonstrates daily the
desire to diminish or undermine America's global influence?
Moscow and Beijing. And Moscow, probably, is even more evil and
impudent. Let us think about the Moscow rulers.
Yes, of course, Putin immediately sent condolences to President
Bush and the American people.
It should be taken into account here that, in September 1999 Putin
consummately used the apartment explosions in Moscow and
Volgodonsk (KGB-organized actions, in the opinion of most of the
Russian media and in the opinion of the author) to gain supreme
power in Russia.
Now the Kremlin is making statements about a "joint struggle
against world terrorism," about "the ties between the actions in
New York and the actions in Moscow in September 1999."
Indeed, these are probably closely tied to one another, and the
same forces are remaining behind the actions in New York and in
Moscow. But what is the real name of these forces? The
investigation should go to the bottom of the barrel and provide the
proper answer.

INTELLIGENT AGENCIES IN THE U.S. KNEW OF ATTACK THE DAY BEFORE
The day before terrorists struck the United States, its intelligence
agencies detected discussions between Osama bin Laden's lieutenants of an
impending "big attack," a senior administration official says.
The official said in an interview that the detection was not discovered
until days after the Sept. 11 assault on the World Trade Center and the
Pentagon. The time lapse is typical of intelligence analyses, in which
computers sift through loads of that day's collection to find valuable
material.
The detection explains, the source said, why President Bush increasingly
pointed the finger of blame at bin Laden in the days following the kamikaze
attacks. The source said the discussions were between bin Laden supporters in
the United States and senior members of bin Laden's al Qaeda terrorist
organization.
As the U.S. military buildup continued yesterday in preparation for air
strikes on bin Laden's adopted home of Afghanistan, the Bush administration
has brought on board significant allies in its campaign against global
terrorism.
Military sources said Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, two former Soviet
republics on Afghanistan's northern border, have agreed secretly to allow
American special-operations troops to launch raids from their soil.
The U.S. Air Force is now operating Predator unmanned reconnaissance
planes in the region. The RQ-1 Predator relays instantaneous images via a
satellite link. It is being used over Afghanistan to locate military targets
and possible bin Laden hide-outs.
Bush spoke to Uzbek President Islam A. Karimov on Wednesday in the
administration's drive to build an international coalition against terrorism.
The two Central Asian countries have a strong motive for helping the
United States dislodge the Taliban from power. The extremist Islamic rulers
of Afghanistan reportedly have tried to spur a militant Muslim uprising in
both neighboring states.
Pakistan, which borders Afghanistan on the south and east, has agreed to
let American warplanes use its airspace. This means fighter-bombers on Navy
carriers in the Arabian Sea would have a direct route to targets in
Afghanistan.
The Predator flies up to 140 mph and below 25,000 feet. Several were
shot down during NATO's air assaults on Yugoslavia in 1999. This summer, a
Predator failed to return from a spy mission over southern Iraq amid
Baghdad's claims it had downed an American plane. A Pentagon official said at the
time that, "The whole idea is to use them in high-risk areas. If you lose it, you don't
lose a pilot."
Officials also said that around Sept. 11, Afghanistan ordered the
scattering of heavy military weapons, such as MiG jet fighters and tanks.
"They are not where they used to be," said an official. "They moved them up
into the hills."
The Pentagon yesterday continued to direct what could be the largest
deployment of weapons to the Persian Gulf region area since the 1991 war with
Iraq. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has signed deployment orders for
about 150 Air Force aircraft. The package includes heavy B-52 and B-1
bombers, F-15, F-16 and F-117 fighters, aerial refuelers, E-3 AWACs
radar-surveillance aircraft and cargo planes.
The Pentagon will not say where the planes will be based. Most will
likely go to airfields in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, where American
warplanes are stationed year-round. Some may launch their bombing runs from
Central Asian countries. Two Navy carriers, the Carl Vinson and Enterprise,
are in the region. Two others, the Theodore Roosevelt and Kitty Hawk, have
been deployed and may join the other two in waters near Afghanistan.
The Army is also moving ground troops in the form of special-operations
soldiers. These will include elite Rangers, Green Berets and Delta Force
commandos.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon is starting to spend some of the billions of
dollars in emergency funds approved by Congress. On the shopping list: new
stocks of precision-guided munitions and improved surveillance equipment.
Together, the systems would be used to locate and kill suspected terrorists.
The deployment is adding up to a combined air-special operations war
against the Taliban and bin Laden's terrorist network. The only way the
Taliban militia seems able to defuse an attack at this point is to meet Mr.
Bush's demands to turn over bin Laden and other terrorists. The Taliban
yesterday rejected the president's demands.
The U.S. alliance with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan means that a decade of
forging military-to-military contacts with the Central Asian nations has paid
off for Washington. In 1995, Uzbekistan and the United States signed an
agreement to conduct joint military exercises. The former Soviet republic
has hosted Army commandos who advised the country's 80,000-strong armed
forces. In 1999, 16 Uzbek officers from the 65th Special Operations Battalion
visited Fort Campbell, Ky., and Fort Bragg, N.C., home of U.S. Army Special
Operations Command.
The Uzbeks received instruction about close-quarter battle, sniper fire,
mountaineering, water operations, paratroop jumps, and using the 9 mm pistol.
Military sources say no final battle plan has been approved. But the
ongoing deployments signal the Pentagon plans to infiltrate Afghanistan with
special-operations soldiers. Working in small teams and armed with the latest
intelligence, the commandos would try to take down the Taliban militia of
about 30,000 one fighter at a time. Backed by air strikes, the U.S. soldiers would
also seek and destroy bin Laden encampments, with the hope of encountering the

If the environment were really at risk, all peoples would or should be subject to the same rules and regulations. Isn't this typical of a true democratic society?
The enormous military might that integration of the world's most powerful nations provides is a power tool (as NATO). There would be little chance of escape from a tyrannical, global source of goverance even for the Americans who still possess an enormous number of personal weapons, in excess of 200 million. In due time, even the Americans will be stripped of their only means of personal defence. Whenever that happens, and assuming that global control is then made complete, we will see the true intentions of those who are now working to be our global keepers.
