GLOBALIZATION |

“…offshore and onshore forces ringed Sea Island and dotted virtually every cubit foot around where delegates or workers were taking care of G-8 business. In addition, marine helicopters, which flew dignitaries in from Savannah, were preceded by scout helicopters with armed troops at the open doors. VIP helicopters were accompanied by military aircraft, including F-15s. Military jets made routine flyovers as well,” says Michael A. Gips in his September story entitled An Island of Protection that appeared in Security Management. “The G-8 Summit brings together leaders from eight of the world’s leading industrial nations: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, and Japan. Also on hand this year were representatives from the European Union and the European Commission, as well as leaders from African and Middle Eastern nations. There they usually focus on global economic issues. But this year terrorism and Iraq were also on the agenda,” says Gips. And so there you have it—government officials from across the world getting together every years to plan our future, almost completely isolated on Sea Island in June of this year (2004) under the heavy protection of every branch of the U.S. military, the Coast Guard, and law enforcement. Yes, there were reporters there, but they were based in Savannah, Georgia’s main conference center, which is on a different island. Where were the protesters? Far away from the event, I can tell you that, for the G-8 long ago learned their lesson. And what was that lesson? That lots of common ordinary people, as well as a slew of professional agitators, will assuredly show up for the festivities in an effort to take control of their future back. My point is, there seems to be a disconnect between those who govern and those whom are governed. I can also assure you that they discussed more than global economics if they talked about security issues that involve all nations. It’s like the United Nations recently suggesting that it re-invent itself so they have the ability to do pre-emptive strikes against nation states. Here, we’ve gone from a U.N. that debates to one that has the legal charter to escalate to the point of violence. And so what happens when that mechanism becomes largely run by Socialist-Communist interests, as it is today? I ask you, is this truly Democracy? At what level do you have a vote in any of this? The people we send to these meetings where decisions are made, do we elect them? Why is it not our House of Representatives that go to these meetings and sessions to act on our behalf? Is this in our best interest? Is it in anyone’s interest? Let’s ask it this way, in who’s interest is it that a group of people from all major industrialized nations get together to plot the economic and military future of all nation states? Is it in your favor? Is it in my favor? Is it in the favor of Latinos, Africans, Mexicans, Canadians, Americans, or Europeans? The answer to that is no, it is not. Then who’s favor is it in? In time all of the answers will become known. As more insiders drop out of the inner circle because the main agenda slowly became obvious to them, and because it clashed with their good nature, more and more people will try to get the word out to a sleeping public. Will you listen, despite the inner circle’s efforts to discredit them in the press—a press that they actually largely own? Or will you just act like a parrot, chanting what your favorite news anchor or newspaper writer tells you? Will you be a zombie or will you be a real live boy (or girl), thinking and analyzing what you see and hear around you? Am I making any sense here? Some might think that this writer is against International trade and joint relations. The answer to that is, NO, this is not correct. I am a firm believer that nations need to talk and work at friendly relations. They need to work together for the "common good" of all their people, not just those who give them things--be it political positions, money, homes, cars, sexual favors, or whatever. I believe in Int'l trade, but not "free trade," as there is nothing in life for free. For example, the reason why Socialism / Communism fails to work in true life is that someone always is left holding the bag in the form of a monetary bill, and that someone is usually the working man. Those who control at the top work very hard to make sure they remain there, hence all the early-morning visits by the KGB, for instance, where people disappeared for a period of time or entirely. In this nation, this happens from time to time, and did so regularly, especially to professed "militia" people, who are actually citizen soldiers whose interest is to guard the heartland of America. Folks, there appears to be a near complete disconnect between the G-8 nations and their people and the fact that they have to hold their meetings on islands away from the very people they are "suppose" to be representing. But, are they truly representing their people's best interests? Anyone who questions this is immediately chastised in one-way or another and it simply isn't right. Democracy hinges on the ability to descent publicly to those who rule. When a governmental body comes to the point where they fear the people they rule, then they must be doing something wrong. Does it not appear that Globalization favors a few while sacrificing many? Any solution that does not take all parties into account is a solution that is bent and twisted to favor certain people while leaving the others out of their plans. The G-8, Sea Island Summit is a good example of a disconnected rulership busy making plans for people who do not want others to decide their future. This is truly the bottom line: "Which would you rather see deciding your economic and educational future--market forces or a select group of Globalists?
